Debbie Reynolds is an American Hollywood actress best known for the Disney Channel movies Halloweentown 1, 2, 3, 4 movies 1998-2006, She was a voice actress for animated movies and TV shows including "Kiki's Delivery Service", "7D", "Charlotte's Web", "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie", "The Penguins of Madagascar".

She was also in Hollywood musicals including "Singing in the Rain" 1952, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" 1964, "The Singing Nun" 1966. She was also in "The Rat Race" 1960, "How the West Was won" and had her own TV show "The Debbie Reynolds Show" She was later in Broadway plays including "Annie Get Your Gun" and "Irene"

She also worked for The Thalians a mental health hospital. She also ran a Dance Studio in Hollywood and a Hotel casino business in Las Vegas and worked towards building a Hollywood museum for archive costumes used in Hollywood films. She is also the mother of Carrie Fisher who would later play in movies including "The Blues Brothers", "Star Wars" 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Early Childhood years.

Debbie Reynolds was born in El Paso Texas USA on April 1, 1932. To both parents who were poor and lived in poverty during the Great Depression. While growing up, she became a Girl Scout. Her mother took laundry for income while her father worked as a carpenter and for the railroad company.

In 1939, Debbie and her family moved to Burbank, California. In 1948 she won her Miss Burbank beauty contest.

Hollywood Movie and TV Career years 1948-2016

In 1948 during the year she won her Miss Burbank beauty contest, the Warner Bros and MGM movie companies both approached her they wanted her to sign a contract to be in their movies, Warner Bros won the coin toss and had Debbie Reynolds be a movie actress for 2 years in musicals including "June Bride" 1948, and "The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady" 1950.

After learning that Warner Bros company no longer wanted to make Musicals, she left the Warner Bros company and decided to work for the MGM company who was at that time making movie Musicals, she was in the movie "Three Little Words" in which she was nominated for Golden Globe Awards, "Two Weeks with Love", "Mr. Imperium."

Then in 1952 she worked with the Hollywood actor Gene Kelly on the box office hit movie "Singing in the Rain" and it was the first time she danced in a movie, something she never did before. When "Singing in the Rain" was released in 1952 in movie theaters, it was box office success and she became one of the most famous actress in Hollywood. She was also in her first broadway play "Best Foot Forward" in 1953.

She would later be in other Hollywood movies including "Skirts Ahoy!", "I Love Melvin", "The Affairs of Dobie Gillis", "Give a Girl a Break", "Meet Me in Las Vegas", "Bundle of Joy" with Eddie Fisher, "Tammy and the Bachelor" in which she sang in and won the gold record and was on the billboard charts.

She was also in movies "This Happy Feeling", "The Mating Game", "The Gazebo", "The Rat Race" 1960, "The Pleasure of His Company", "How the West Was Won" 1962 which was a box office success. She was also in "My Six Loves", and the box office hit movie "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" 1964 in which she was nominated for best Actress.

She was also in "Goodbye Charlie", "The Singing Nun", "Divorce American Style", "How Sweet It Is!", "What's the Matter With Helen?" her first horror film, and the Hanna Barbara cartoon movie "Charlotte's Web" 1973.

In 1969 she was in the NBC TV show "The Debbie Reynolds Show" which only lasted for a year. She was furious when she found out the NBC TV company was showing cigarette ads which she was opposed to and got into a dispute with NBC and later walked out of the show because she didn't want children seeing cigarette ads on TV.

In 1973 Debbie Reynolds would take a break from making movies and TV shows and go on Broadway plays so she could be close to her family in Las Vegas. She was in "Irene", "Debbie", "Annie Get Your Gun", "Woman of the Year", "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"

Debbie Reynolds Business Careers

In 1979 Debbie started her own dance studio and released an exercise video on VHS "Do It Debbie's Way!" in 1983. Later on, she started her business with buying a Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992. renamed it Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Hotel. But it was failed business and in 1997 she declared bankruptcy, she moved to Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, California where she later auctioned off many of her things. She also started up a museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. But it failed and she also declared bankruptcy and auctioned off many of her things.

Marriage and Divorce 1955-1996

In 1955, Debbie married her first husband Eddie Fisher (1928-2010). She gave birth to their daughter Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) who would later go on to be a Hollywood actress in movies including "The Blues Brothers" 1980, "Star Wars" 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 in (1977-2017). She also gave birth to her son Todd Fisher in 1958.

Then in 1959 Debbie found out that Eddie Fisher was having a love affair with the Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor which led to the TV cancellation of The Eddie Fisher Show. Debbie then divorced Eddie and was left to raise her 2 kids alone for 1 year.

In 1960 Debbie married her second husband Harry Karl who would later spend and gamble money which led to the divorce in 1973.

In 1984 Debbie married her last husband Richard Hamlett a real estate developer. They stayed together until 1996 when she divorced him and didn't marry anymore men.

Debbie Reynolds Final years

In 1987 Debbie Reynolds would make a comeback in movies and TV shows being in cameos and on screen including "Sadie and Son", "The Golden Girls", "Battling for Baby", "The Bodyguard" 1994, "Mother" 1996, "Wedding Bell Blues" 1996, "In & Out", 1997 and in the TV show "Roseanne" and "Will and Grace" 1999-2006.

In 1998 Debbie was in the Disney, Studio Ghibli, cartoon movie "Kiki's Delivery Service" 1998 and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie", She was in the popular Disney Channel movies "Halloweentown I" 1998, "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge" 2001, "Halloweentown High" 2004, and "Return to Halloweentown" 2006, she was also in "Rugrats in Paris: The Movie" 2000, "The Penguins of Madagascar" 2010.

She also was in TV documentaries even the ones with Carrie Fisher. She was in "RuPaul's Drag Race" TV show, Her final movie was "One for the Money" and her final Disney Channel show "7D" would be her last one shortly before her death in 2016.

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fishers death and legacy

On December 23, 2016. Debbie's daughter Carrie Fisher stopped breathing on her way home on a airplane flight from London to Los Angeles. The pilot made an emergency landing and Carrie was immediately taken to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Hospital and was placed on life support. Debbie went over to the Hospital to be with her daughter. 4 days later on December 27, 2016. Carrie Fisher died which resulted in Debbie being heartbroken and she thanked the online fans of Star Wars on Facebook for her daughters support. later on, she suffered a stroke and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Hospital, the next day on December 28, 2016. Debbie Reynolds died from a stroke and stress.

Carrie Fisher would be cremated while Debbie Reynolds was buried in the Los Angeles graveyard. And a private funeral was held in their honor.

Debbie Reynolds will be forever remembered in "Singing in the Rain", "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", "Will and Grace", "Kiki's Delivery Service", "Halloweentown" movie series. She will also be remembered for saving vintage Hollywood costumes and for being a kind person to her family and to her fans.
