AboutThe group was formed in 1990 by Beyoncé Knowles, LaTavia Roberson, Kelly Rowland, and LeToya Luckett, who were all children or teenagers at the time. They initially performed as Girl's Tyme, and their first big break came in 1992 when they competed on the talent show "Star Search." Although they did not win, they caught the attention of music executive Matthew Knowles, who became their manager and eventually Beyoncé's father.

Destiny's Child signed their first record deal with Columbia Records in 1997 and released their self-titled debut album later that year. The album was a modest success, but it wasn't until their second album, "The Writing's on the Wall," that they really took off. The album spent 99 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and included four hit singles, including "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name," which won two Grammy Awards.

In 2000, Destiny's Child contributed the song "Independent Women" to the soundtrack of the film "Charlie's Angels," which became their biggest hit up to that point. The song spent eleven weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned the group their third Grammy Award. The following year, they released their third album, "Survivor," which included the title track, "Bootylicious," and "Independent Women Part II." The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and earned the group two more Grammy Awards.

After the release of "Survivor," the group went on hiatus to pursue solo projects. Beyoncé released her debut solo album, "Dangerously in Love," in 2003, which was a huge success and earned her five Grammy Awards. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams also released solo albums, but they were not as commercially successful as Beyoncé's.

Destiny's Child reunited in 2004 to release their fourth and final studio album, "Destiny Fulfilled," which included the hit single "Lose My Breath." The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum in the United States.

After the release of "Destiny Fulfilled," the group officially disbanded, but they have reunited for several performances over the years, including a medley at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013.

In addition to their success as a group, the members of Destiny's Child have all had successful solo careers. Beyoncé, in particular, has become one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation, with numerous hit songs, albums, and awards to her name.
