1 posts	I think that Isobel was a girl who either had an abortion, or had a kid that died. Either way because of t his she ended up comiting suicide.

My guess is that she is a friend of Dido's, why maybe found out that she was pregnant and commit suicide. Maybe by hanging herself in a tree?

You can tell in the second verse: "And who would he become, all the things he'd have done Would he have loved you, and not let you down? And would he be stronger than his father? Don't punish yourself; leave it well alone" In this part she is talking about the fetus.
