AboutDiego Antonio Caccia Torres (born March 9, 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine Grammy Award-nominated pop singer and composer. His mother was the Argentine singer Lolita Torres.

In 1991, Diego Torres' music career began with a band called "La Marca." Later, he began his first steps on TV starring in the successful TV series "La Banda del Golden Rocket" which stayed on air for three years. He loved soccer.

In 1992, he launched his first album, "Diego Torres," produced by Cachorro López. This album was rewarded 3 times platinum. Two years later, and a little distant from TV, he launched his second album called "Tratar de estar mejor" which received 5 platinum albums in Argentina and gold and platinum albums in other Latin American countries. This album launched Torres to the international scene.

In 1996, the Italian producer Celso Valli produced Torres' third album, "Luna Nueva", and months later Diego started touring with his band all across Latin America, United States, and Spain. The album went on sale, soon becoming gold and quickly being rewarded with the platinum in Argentina.

In 1999, he recorded his fourth album called "Tal Cual Es", produced by Cachorro López. This album showed Diego's talent and creativity to compose and mix different Latin sounds, such as flamenco guitars as well as various other tropical sounds.

His next album was named "Un Mundo Diferente" which was recorded in the second half of 2001 in Buenos Aires and Miami. This album presents a variety of styles and merges with several Latin rhythm styles in most songs, such as in his most successful song so far, "Color Esperanza", which stayed at the top of the Argentine Singles/Airplay Chart for twelve consecutive weeks. The album received a Grammy Award nomination in 2003.

2004 brought a new challenge to Diego: the possibility of recording an MTV Unplugged, which would be aired in the MTV networks of Brazil, Latin America, Spain and United States. The reconversion of the acoustical in some of his hits along with the presentation of his new themes are part of this show, which is also produced on CD and DVD.

In 2005 he received the Platinum Konex Award as best Argentine male pop/ballad singer, shared with Sandro de América.

Andando is the seventh album in Diego Torres' career. Diego produced the album in it's entirety. It marked a profound artistic growth and summed experience to his great talent as a singer and songwriter (composer).
The album counted with the collaboration of two tremendous guests: the Spaniard Joaquín Sabina, who wrote the song "Por la Escalera" and the Dominican Juan Luis Guerra in the duet of the single "Abriendo Caminos". With this last one, he forged a close musical and personal friendship which continues to withstand.
In the tour of presentation in 2007, Diego showed quality and style in concerts of excellent musical, resounding and visual level.

In 2007, as part of Walking tour of Latin America, Diego Torres, had the opportunity to meet Gian Marco Zignago, Peruvian composer and musician, with whom he shared some dates of his concerts. From that link they met again, this time with a project under the arm: composing the theme song for a feature length animation.
After several visits to Buenos Aires Gianmarco and Diego to Lima, filed in 2009, the song called "La Aventura del Mar", quickly accepted and incorporated in the film "El Delfín". Diego Torres played both the version in Spanish and English.
During the press conference, the presentation of the film Diego, referring to the Peruvian composer, said: ""This project gave me a new friend".

In May, 2010, the eighth Diego Torres record was launched.
The new album called "Distinto"(Different) owes its name to a change in the musical direction, in which Diego goes for a more rythmic and rock-oriented sound without losing the essence of his personal style.
The steps taken with each of his seven previous records led him to emerge with a really different proposal.
"Distinto" is made up of 10 new songs entirely co-produced with Rafa Arcaute.
Diego had 3 luxury collaborations for his new record: one with La Mala Rodríguez (top exponent of Iberian hip-hop) who gave a unique touch to "Mirar Atrás", another one with Yotuel (leader of Orishas, a band that established itself by fusing hip-hop with Cuban son) on "Cuando No Queda Nada" and one more with Kevin Johansen (one of the most talented Argentine musicians of the current scene) on "Bendito".
This change in the musical direction of his career is evident in each of the notes that give life to "Guapa", the first single in "Distinto", launched in February 2010. For the recording of "Guapa", Diego had a first-class team, including Rafa Arcaute in the song co-production, and the participation of Noel Schajris (Sin Bandera) in the co-writing, a musician with whom Diego not only shares the nationality (they are both Argentine, born in Buenos Aires), but also a bosom frienship that has been an enriching incentive for this project.
