Russia won Eurovision

After the 53th edition of the contest, Russia won Eurovision, then followed Ukrain & Greece. Disappointment for the French : Sébastien Tellier only became N°19 (on 25 finalists), but it's better than last year...

First winning for Russia, which got votes from former USSR countries, one of the favourites on Saturday evening (May 24). The winner, Dima Bilan, has sung "Believe", a ballad about believing to realise dreams. This charming boy is already a star in his country, he was loved by the audience because of his ice-skating show & an excellent performance.

Russia got 272 points, Ukrain got 230 points & Greece got 218 points. About France, it became N°19 out of 25 with Sébastien Tellier. Pop & trendy, his song "Divine", "in English please", didn't touch the crowd ! Sunglasses, beard & grey suit, the French electro-pop Chabal got 42 points. Finally, between Finnish hard-rockers, Latvian pirates, a 75-year-old Croatian singer & a Spaniard dressed like Elvis, the French contestant was the least eccentric for this 2008 edition, but he gave another touch on this dressing contest.
