I don't know what the song means, but Enya is not the woman who performs it. The woman's name is Lisa Gerard of Dead Can Dance. I love the song, I just want the right person to get the credit.

Enya is not the original vocalist to do this song. That credit does indeed go to Lisa Gerrard

However, this is one of Enya's rare B sides. As such, it will be remaining in this artist map.

FOR WHO ASKED: The language from the song is NOT Greek. Enya usually writes the lyrics of her songs in either Latin or Irish Gaelic. The latter is apparently used in this song.

I dont believe it is in any language in particular, as strange as that sounds. The lyrics to make what you will of them;

Anol shalom
Anol sheh lay konnud de ne um {shaddai}
Flavum
Nom de leesh
Ham de nam um das
La um de
Flavne…

We de ze zu bu
We de sooo a ru
Un va-a pesh a lay
Un vi-I bee
Un da la pech ni sa
(Aaahh)
Un di-I lay na day
Un ma la pech a nay
Mee di nu ku

(Fast tempo, 4 times)
La la da pa da le na da na
Ve va da pa da le na la dumda

Anol shalom
Anol sheh ley kon-nud de ne um.
Flavum.
Flavum.
M-ai shondol-lee
Flavu… {Live on…}

Nom de lis
Ham de num um dass

I speak Gaelic- not well, but enough to know that this song is not in Gaelic. I'd say it's closest to Hebrew, though it sounds French sometimes...
I dunno- I'd even go so far as to say it might be a mish-mosh of languages, so as to give it a more universal feel. It would be right, I think for the message of both the song and the movie, but really I have no idea.

Enya has nothing to do with that song... she just singing it exactly like me sister does every week at the karaoke contest here in the local pub!
The composers are Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard.
Few words are Hebrew (Zimmer it's a clear Jewish name) but the rest has just no sense.
So there is no translations.
from a Lisa interview about the song:

...The rest of the vocals, sung with sounds rather than in a conventional language, are an example of melismatic singing. "It's a language invented within the music, inherently, and the words mean more than I can say in English", she says. "The way I sing is not new; it's been around since the beginning of time, and it's something all children are born with. It's not unique to me, but for some reason I never lost the ability".

I'm Israelien and I must say the only word I understand was 'shalom', which means hello. None of the others has any special meaning for me
The song itself is apperently not my type... I like many of Enya's but it's just not a good one.
Sorry of the bad spelling, English was never my best side.

this isnt a language at all. anf enya didnt sing it. someone else did but i cant remember what her name was. but her and hans zimmer made the lyrics and stuff up. so its not really any language, thogh it sounds like one. it does sound hebrew though, but its not.

Enya does not sing this song. the person who does sing it.. lisa gerrard, has a mesmerizing voice. the language is made up, make of it as you wish. the vowels, rhythms, and repetition make this song very emotional. its definitely one of my favorites.
