Étienne Daho is a French singer & songwriter, born on January 14, 1956 in Oran, Algeria. His family went to Rennes, France in the early 60's. Étienne got his Baccalauréat then studied English, but he was more interested in music & in 1979, he met Elli Medeiros & Jacno & started his career. In 1980, he made his first concert at Rennes' Transmusicales.
Noticed there, he signed to Virgin & released his first album Mythomane. Sales were disappointing but the press loved the man's talent. His second album La Notte, La Notte..., released in 1984, was a success thanks to the hit "Week-End À Rome". Hits followed : "Tombé Pour La France", "Épaule Tattoo", "Duel Au Soleil", "Comme Un Igloo"... His European career started with his album Paris Ailleurs, successful in England. Étienne has been decorated "Chevalier De L'Ordre National Du Mérite" in March 2002 & "Officier Des Arts Et Des Lettres" in November 2006. His albums were loved by the audience : Corps Et Armes in 2000, Réévolution in 2003 & L'Invitation, 4 years later, in 2007, confirmed Étienne's talent as a French pop artist. In May 2009, he left Virgin & signed to Naive.
