My black backpack stuffed with broken dreams
Twenty bucks should get me through the week
Never said a word of discontentment
Thought it a thousand times but now
I'm leaving home
Here in the shadows
I'm safe, I'm free
I've nowhere else to go
But I cannot stay where I don't belong
Two months pass by and it's getting cold
I know I'm not lost I'm just alone
But I won't cry, I won't give up, I can't go back now
Waking up is knowing who you really are
Here in the shadows
I'm safe, I'm free
I've nowhere else to go
But I cannot stay where I don't belong
In the shadows
I'm safe, I'm free
I've nowhere else to go
But I cannot stay here
Oh, show me the shadow where true meaning lies
So much more dismay in empty eyes
evanescance ROCk i havent heard that song..they had an album be4 the one they relesed...(fallen)..maybe its there but they've probaly have more songs than we know cuz they just recently became a hit!!.. search for it on kazza and search the stores!
Origin (their old album) rocks, also all of the other songs and demos they've made, I've heard every single song by them that are listed on this page, I highly recommend that you download their old stuff from the net, with kazaa-lite or something
I originally didn't like this song, but after a few listens it's grown on me. Bands always seem to be at their best in their early days, then major labels come along and screw things up. I wish I had heard of Evanescence years ago!

vocal go to EBAY to order ((if your American or Canadian)) otherwise iunno, some old music stores might have them, Origin is a rare cd, and their EPs are the same, they sell for hundreds places I've seen, if you don't wanna buy the cd, get kazza or something, download the songs. BTW, I love Exodus, it's the theme for one of my websites, you gotta hear it, EVERYONE.

vocal I LOVE evanescence...Exodus is one of my favorite songs, along with Breathe No More and Wash it Away. Hello from Fallen is good, and I like the Fallen CD, but I think their old music is the best. I also have every song listed on there, and every song they've created that I know of, except The End. I havn't heard that one and I can't find any working copys of it. Amy Lee is my idol!
One of Evanescence’s earliest recorded songs. Released on the Evanescence EP in December 1998. It should be noted that Amy Lee plays the piano in this song. David Hodges didn’t join the band until 2000.
