My first thought was that it was probably about her sister, too. Sad and beautiful. I wouldn't call it harsh, just honest in a way we're not used to hearing, at least in mainstream music.

when i first heard it i just starting crying, i had no idea it was about her sister until the last chorus. by far its the best song on the album
I thought the song was kind of disturbing. It's like when someone you really love first dies, and you're mourning and you consider suicide to try and fallow them. Even though you know that's the last thing they would ever want.
Actually, now that I think about it. The song reminds me alot of the Korean film A Tale of Two Sisters. Which you can order on DVD subtitled. The basis
You'll have to pardon that I don't really remember the names of the characters because I'm not very familiar with Korean names.
The basis of the story is,he lead female character's sister died under mysterious circumstances, and gradually you find out that it caused the older sister to go insane..and telling you more would be kind of spoilers.
The film is very sad. I really mean it as a warning, I was like choking back tears at the end of it. The concept is similar to Like You though, the idea that the older sister subconciously wanted so much to be with the younger sister it drove her nuts. I guess maybe suicidal, but they couldn't put that in because what story do you have, if the main character dies off.
hang on...just thinking, is amy going to perform this song at her shows?? hello was also about her sister but she did not perform it cause it was a personal song, so what about this song???

and about if amy is going to sing it, i really belive she is going to, because "hello" as far as i know, was not meant to be in fallen, so amy refuse to sing it, but like you is made for tge album.

Anyhow, I find the part with: I'm not grieving for you/ I'm coming for you, is one of the most eerie parts in the song, or many of their songs for that matter. The song is painfully about the final seperation of death and pointing out it's not so final. And it does seem to show that it's the living left behind that are the ones that suffer more than the person who passes on. Like so many of Evanescence's songs, this is highly evocative, emotional, and full of metaphor and similie. Amy has the right sort of voice for the music she sings.

vocal Evanescence is my favorite band. Their music is the darkest music I can relate too. After hearing them for the first time I no longer felt so alone. With that said, I knew that this story must be true otherwise how could someone write something so deep. Knowing that Amy Lee's little sister really passed away makes this song so much more personal. I can imagine how I'd feel the same way.

I never realized Amy Lee's sister passed away when she was young, but its definately hard to deal with knowing that possibly the one person you thought would always be there, now isn't....I know i feel that most days... But it was definately an amazing song and I'm glad someone put it into writing and out on words for others to know they're not the only ones

the lyrics is so sad but the that amy sings them gives me the feeling that she (the person in the song) wouldt commit sucide, but live a long life and then when the her time came embrace death, and rejoin with the long lost love. this unfutlently donsent make it anyless sad in my oppinion rather the opposit .
i kinds of remind me af the movie Gladiator, were the main character dies in the end and another one says the will meet but not yet, not yet.
the song and the end gives me almost the same feeling. not only sadnes but also some other feeling, hard to describe and hard to put in ant category but i think its a good feeling
