very eye-catching cover art. a butterly-woman trapped in a glass-jar, like in the video for "Cold (But I'm Still Here)." a very pretty blue shade throughout.

after listening to this album non-stop for a year and a half I am still blown away by all of the songs on this CD. Each song is distinct and simply excellent. "Eclipsed," "Beg" and "Over" are particularly wonderful.

the lead singer is a master at what he does. His words flow seemlessly and he has an excellent way of stringing phrases together so that blend with the music.

every song is recognizable and unique.

3 guitars and a drummer, backed with a cellist, a pianist and a percussionist (with a very diverse set of percussion instuments ie. "cold but I'm still here") the music sounds great. the bassist has a very heavy and unique style.

many bands may falter in this department but this is where Evans|Blue shines. The lead singer makes 99.9% of writers look like amateurs, his lyrics are profound and deep and three cuts above what the average listener has come to expect from the music industry.

the lead singer of Evans Blue has an excellent voice. Live or recorded he is soothing and heavy at the same time, a truly talented man.

I won't in as much detail as the other, but I will say that this album is my absolute favorite of anything. The music perfectly fits the emotions that Matisyn is conveying through his words. And the lyrics combined with the vocal melodies are incredible. This album screams desperation, desire, and betrayal...and I love it. It seems all about the things you want so badly but you can't have, and I am fairly certain that I am addicted to it. Thanks Evans Blue...you guys are amazing. |
