Song lyrics
It's all a game of this or that.
Now verses then,
Better off against worse for wear.
And you’re someone,
Who knows someone who knows someone,
I once knew,
And I just want to be a part of this.

The road outside my house,
Is paved with good intentions.
Hired a construction crew,
'Cause it's hell on the engine.
You are the dreamer,
And we are the dream.
I could write it better than you ever felt it.
So...

Hum hallelujah,
Just off the key of reason.
I thought I loved you.
It was just how you looked in the light.
A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."
I sing the blues,
And swallow them too.

My words are my faith.
To hell with our good name.
A remix of your guts.
Your insides x-rayed.
And one day we'll get nostalgic for disaster.
We’re a bull, your ears are just a china shop.

I love you in the same way,
There's a chapel in a hospital.
One foot in your bedroom,
And one foot out the door.
Sometimes we take chances.
Sometimes we take pills.
I could write it better than you ever felt it.
So...

Hum hallelujah,
Just off the key of reason.
I thought I loved you.
It was just how you looked in the light.
A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."
I sing the blues,
And swallow them too.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu...
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu...

A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."
I sing the blues,
And swallow them too
So...

Hum hallelujah,
Just off the key of reason.
I thought I loved you.
It was just how you looked in the light.

A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."
A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."
A teenage vow in a parking lot,
"Till tonight do us part."

I sing the blues,
And swallow them too.

This was pretty much my favorite song from the beginning! I just love the lyrics and I have cried to this song as I've sang along. It really sucks too cuz my 2 closest friends absolutely HATE this song. I really don't know why or how you can hate a FOB song...

Love this song and this album. One of, if not the best CD I have ever bought!

This song is definitely my favorite off FOB's new album; it's way better than "This Ain't a Scene."

AWESOME song! immediate favorite off the new album! But someone help me out here! The lyrics at the beginning are 'it's all a game of this and that/ now this is that" aren't they? i don't know how to make corrections...
But this song is amazing! Alot of superb lines "Somtimes we take cahnces, sometimes we take pills" "i sing the blues and swallow them too" "Till tonight do us part" "the road outside my house/is paved with good intentions/hired a construction crew/coz it's hell on the engine" "I could write it better than you ever felt it"
Absolutely fantastic songwriting!

FOB used to be my favorite band, but I think this album is a letdown. It makes me sad that I haven't fallen head over heels for it like I did the last two. And I know this isn't the important thing, but I don't like their current "look" either. When I see them on the tube they just kind of get on my nerves, I don't know why. Listening to FUCT makes me all starry-eyed, but IOH pretty much does nothing for me. And I've never disliked a FOB song more than I dislike "I've got all this ringing....."
But I do have to admit that the lyric "I love you in the same way there's a chapel in a hospital" is maybe my favorite lyric ever. It means so much by saying so little. One of the few on the new album in which I can understand what's behind it.

ok, so i'll admit this...it's a fucking catchy song. and the lyrics are great. HOWEVER. they stole from one of the best songs ever, and none of you hardcore fall out boy fans even know it. everyone that even considers listening to this song should download leonard cohens "hallelujah" first. or jeff buckleys, or rufus wainwrights. THATS the real song. dont think pete wentz is such a genius.

FUCT and IOH make me sooo happy, i've seen them twice this year (the only two times they've been in Aus.) and the second time was on my birthday, it was amazing.

i've never been able to pick a favourite song from FUCT or IOH...although in IOH there are a few more that arent on the same level as the rest, but still i definately couldn't say this album is a letdown. Hum Hallelujah and Of All The Gin Joints In All The World make me so unbelievably happy, and seeing them performed live on my b'day was mind blowing.

oh, and jamesdeangirl; they didn't "steal" anything from Hallelujah, they incorporated a part of into their song...it's like they're paying homage to it (showing their respect for what a great song the original is).

Oh and when they did a cover of Green Day's Basket Case..AMAZING! and it was so funny because my cousin who was with me doesn't like Green Day (crazy, i know) so she knew none of the words while i shouted along and danced..good times
