Song lyrics
Oh, oh, unforgiven, oh

Daddy, daddy
Why you break your promises to me
Daddy, daddy
Don't you know you hurt me constantly,
Ah, ah, ah, ah

And there's something that I that think you should know
I'm not the little girl you left waiting at home
All the hurt and pain you left with Mom and me
Why can't I be angry
I hope you're somewhere out there listening to this song
I hope you're thinking what you did, you did was wrong
Well let me make it crystal clear for you to see
It's too late for I'm sorry

Sorry is a word you like to say
But sorry won't erase the things you did
Yesterday

(No!) And I want you to know that I didn't need you anyway
(No!) And this rope that we walk on is swaying
(No!) And the ties that bind us, they will never ever fray
(No!) but I want for you to know
You are
You are
Unforgiven

Unforgiven

Daddy, daddy
Fan of absolute simplicity
Daddy, daddy
Expert in responsibility,
Ah, ah, ah, ah

Where were you when I fell down and skinned my knee
Where were you when I was scared to go to sleep
Where were you to soothe my insecurities (ah, ah)
Why can't I be angry
Where were you the first time someone broke my heart
Where were you when I first learned to drive a car
Where were you when I plugged in my first guitar
It's too late for I'm sorry, yeah

And I want you to know that I didn't need you anyway
(No!) And this rope that we walk on is swaying
(No!) And the ties that bind us, they will never ever fray
(No!) But I want for you to know
You are
You are
Unforgiven
Unforgiven

Ooooooo
Unforgiven
Ooooooo,
La dee da dee da
Oh oo whoa oo whoa!

Sorry is a word you like to say
But sorry won't erase the things you did
Yesterday

(No!) And I want you to know that I didn't need you anyway
(No!) And this rope that we walk on is swaying
(No!) And the ties that bind us, they will never ever fray
(No!) But I want for you to know
You are

This song reminds me of me and my dad so much... but its really good. kudos to fefe for acting like herself and not the color skin she is.

First, I love Fefe Dobson for the simple fact that she breaking the preset norm of contemporary rock by being a black female and staying true to her art. It is also a pretty good cd as well. However, black music is not limited to jazz, hip-hop/rap, blues, gospel and r&b. Historically, rocknroll was created by black blues/r&b artists, it is something that just has materialized and crossed over. For example, salsa beats orginated from the african slaves inthe Spanish territories. So I don't Fefe is doing anything new, I just believe she is not letting a color based society place her in a restricted box (which is awesome).

Secondly, what is acting black? Listening to hip-hop, talking slang, wearing urban gear, etc. what is acting white? Listening to pop, saying 'dude', being from suburbs, etc. As long as one lives by these societal norms then they will forever feel restricted and limited. Take a note from Fefe and start thinking outside the box that society has constructed for you. Then an only then will you be open to new ideas.

I've never heard this song before but now after reading what ya'll said makes me want to go out and buy her CD. I understand her about how even though she's mixed; she still went through hard times in school. Her mother is white and her father is black. Her father left them both when she was little. I give her two thumbs up for this song.

I'm an oreo. So what? Everyone's different. I like Rock, Techno, Hip hop & R&B, and some Rap. So what if I'm black and I dress, and act white?! It really doesn't matter. Go for it Fefe.

Hey Becka! I agree with you on the whole black rock music thing. It seems as if almost all music by black people is, like, jazz (I'm not saying I have anything against jazz!) and hip hop/r&b/rap. What has happened to the world?

Luv,
Mel

Fefe Dobson is my favorte pop/rock star yet. I'm just so glad I bought her album. She's just unique and her style is just so amazing. Her album is the first album I ever bought. I love u FEFE...and keep rockin on girl cuz ur gonna make it far.

I'm so glad I got to start this discussion. It really lets u guys know how big of a fan I am of FeFe.

ROCK ON FEFE...AND STAY BLACK.
I know a lot of people call her a poser since she's African-American and her taste of music isn't what u think black people would like. But hey, I'm black and I love FeFe and her music.

So thanks for readin my comment,
LoVe,
Becka
