Song lyrics
I wish I would've met you.
Now it's a little late.
What you could'a taught me;
I could've saved some face.

They think that your early ending was all wrong.
For the most part, they're right;
But look how they all got strong.

That's why I say
Hey man nice shot.
Good shot man.
Thats why I say
hey man nice shot.
good shot man.

CHORUS:
A man has gone,
A man has fun,
Nice shot!

Now that the smoke's gone;
And the air is all clear;
Those who were right there;
Got a new kind of fear.

You'd fight and you were right,
But they were just too strong.
They'd stick it in your face and
Let you smell what they consider wrong.

That's why I say
Hey man nice shot.
A good shot man.
Thats why I say
Hey man nice shot.
What a good shot man.

CHORUS X4

Oh nice shot man!

I wish I would've met you,
I wish I would've met you,
I wish I would've met you,
I wish I would've met you;
I'd say nice shot!

yeah, its about that government dude that was upset about a bill that was just passed so he did something to catch the police's attention and went on a highspeed chase.
after getting trapped, there was a stand off for about an hour, then he pulled out a shot gun and blew his head off on national television.

"hey man, nice shot"

Awsome song, first time i ever heard it was on the X-files, lol.

I have read that this song was about Kurt Cobain. And from what I can see, it actually makes sense. Filter could have learn a lot from Kurt, but what could they learn from the two persons you mention?

Um, ok. So you guys know, R. Budd Dwyer is who this song is about. He was a state treasurer, about to be charged with bribery and all sorts of other stuff which carried a 55-year jail term and a $300,000 fine, and the day before his trial, he held this live conference, in which he once again stated his innocence, then handed out letters to his staff, pulled a magnum out, waved off the people who immediately shouted at him to stop, told them "no, no!" as if they were over-reacting, seemed very calm, then quickly put the gun in his mouth (I think, it was very hurried and the camera was moving around a bit) and pulled the trigger. If you've seen bowling for columbine, you can see a clip of him pulling the trigger in one of the montage scenes. You can also see the whole clip if you google it. Very graphic, though. The camera-man zoomed in on him once he fell. Lots of blood.
