 Lead author of the magazine Gala this week, France Gall talks about her projects, like a musical show : she'll be the creator, not one of the singers.
We thought that her career was over but France Gall is working on a new project. In an interview to the magazine Gala, the singer answers to Béatrice Schönberg's questions, announcing a musical show. Between souvenirs of life with her husband Michel Berger & her illness, the woman, who spends her time in Africa, is (finally) back on the scene. For the question "do you have any musical projects ?", France Gall answered : "Here's the question I hate". Since her latest album France in 1996, she only released compilations. "Wherever I go, people always tell me that they love me so much, I miss them." At last, "Babacar" singer goes further : "It's the good time to ask me that because I've got something to say. Some months ago, my team & I created a musical show with the songs that we performed, Michel Berger & me." She said it : a musical show. No new songs but a more important projects with songs already existing, written by her late husband. A pianist, composer & also producer for Véronique Sanson, Françoise Hardy & Johnny Hallyday, Michel Berger was known for many French songs that we still listen to today : "Seras-Tu Là ?", "La Groupie Du Pianiste", "Le Paradis Blanc" & "Chanter Pour Ceux Qui Sont Loin De Chez Eux". Before the 20th anniversary of Michel Berger's death, on August 2, France Gall seems "calmed down". Time healed her pains & the artist wasn't very happy until now : "I took time to find this idea. We're still working on it so, this project won't appear before 2014. It's the work that has been attracting me for some time, because it's a creation." However, France Gall doesn't talk about the film adaptation of the opera rock "Starmania" (1979), written by Luc Plamondon & composed by Michel Berger : this musical revealed artists like Daniel Balavoine. France Gall owns the rights of Berger's compositions & should give her agreement for this project : for the moment, she hasn't answered yet.
