 Thanks "The Voice" ! The real TV coach can thank TF1. He recently signed to Mercury France/Universal, to record an album.Garou is back. Some days ago, the Canadian singer signed a contract with Mercury France/Universal for one album. After the failure of his 2 albums Gentleman Cambrioleur in 2009 & Version Intégrale in 2010, Garou said in October 2011 that he has been fired by Sony Music. He went down since his duet with Michel Sardou, "La Rivière De Notre Enfance" (N°1 in 2004). "I don't have any contract with a record company anymore. I'm not the "lavor of the year". I started well, with 2 million copies sold for my debut album, I never asked that" the artist said to "Le Parisien". The artist resumed his role of Quasimodo for the come-back of "Notre-Dame De Paris" at Paris' Bercy. Since February, he's in TF1's TV show "The Voice, La Plus Belle Voix", aired every Saturday evening. Nice bet. Mercury France/Universal, that'll release the winner's album, also signed Garou. On the same label, there's also Jenifer, who'll release her fifth album this year. Will "Belle" singer change his musical universe ? For some weeks, Garou has been negotiating a contract with Universal. He has been seen with Pascal Nègre, the CEO, on a photo that Olivier Nusse, the head of Mercury, put on his Twitter. Update : in a communiqué, Mercury said that Garou's signing was official. The label announces that "he's working on a R&B album with Plan B's producers. The release is scheduled for September". Pascal Nègre added : "A short delay between our first encounter, a way of seeing the artistic project, his signing & entering the studio... It's the first time I've seen it ! Maybe it's a lightning strike..." Garou said it too : "Think that I spent 3 years with "Notre-Dame De Paris" before being signed to Sony Music.
