| This song is SOOOOOOOOOO sad and obviously about his wife who commited suicide in October. It's a really good song though. But still, it totally makes me cry. And it makes me sad that his wife killed herself, because Gary Allan is awesome. |

I didn't know that his wife commited suicide, or even that he was married. Regardless, this a great redo of the Vertical Horizon song... I don't know who did a better job with it, but Gary would certainly get the nod cause of his wife's death. Gotta love country music where almost every song has a meaning behind it. Even though this wasn't originally country, Gary definately made it country and put that meaning into it. |

I don't mean to sound rude. I love Gary Allan and the song "Best I Ever Had". However, it is not about his wife. He didn't even write it. While I am a primarily a country fan I do listen to other types of music. About 4 years ago Verticle Horizon sang that song. Gary Allan just redid it recently..... before his wife passed! |

| This is Vertical Horizon's song, what the hell, they should be getting the credit for this song |

| Sorry, this is probably the worst cover song EVER. He doesn't even get some of the words right. He has some great hits like Man To Man, Tough Little Boys, and one of my favorites, Songs About Rain. So why does he have to attemp a cover of an alternative rock song? Believe me, Vertical Horizons version was GREAT and I love the song. If it wasn't for the background meaning of this song for Gary Allan, it should never have been recorded... his album Tough All Over has some really good OTHER material that he should have used as a single.
Oh yeah, the name of the song is "GREY SKY MORNING" anyways... somehow it got lost in translation. THE LAST LINE OF THE HOOK DOESN'T CONSTITUTE THE TITLE OF THE SONG! |

I love this song. It's so sad and I cried the first times I heard it. I tear up a little now and then when I hear it. It's so beautiful. |

This is actually a great redo. Vertical Horizon couldn't pull off this song the way Gary could. His unique voice (with the twang) is perfect.
When I first heard this, I could've sworn i'd heard it before....I was right.
Anyway; I think "best I ever had" is a fine name for the song. Pretty much sums it up. Grey Sky morning doesn't have much to do with the feelings he's singing about. |

| Okay, so obviously I didn't know that this was a Vertical Horizon song originally. I listened to their version... it was good, but I still like Gary's better. And I was watching a concert of his on CMT and he made reference to his late wife before performing this song saying that "I found myself listening to this song over and over" So yeah... he definately identifies this song with his wife. Very sad. |

Okay, first off Gary Allan did a MUCH better job with this song than Vertical Horizon. Secondly, I just attended my SECOND concert last night in 3 months. Rascal Flatts w/ Gary Allan as their special guest. He CLEARLY explained BOTH times that... This song was sent to him after his wife died and he found himself listening to it over and over. Therefore he recorded it himself. NOW.. why is it such a big deal that he did since about every artist out there re-records music that has been done before? He never has taken credit for writing this song or creating it or whatever. It helped him get through what was going on with his wife. This song is very sad and gives me the chills as well. Though, to feel the real impact of emotions... you really need to hear it LIVE!! It's amazing and so touching that it will bring you to tears. I just wanted to clear up that he did not ever take credit for this song and he admitted that it was sent to him and he re-recorded it. I don't mean to be rude if I sound it but still...
Gary Allan is so hott too |

i love this song, gary allan has such a nice voice. i noticed when i searched for this song, though, that it was also there with his name spelled wrong and that one had a rating of 4078 while this one with his name spelled right is 9300...i thought that was a big difference in ranking for just the name spelled differently...i don't even know how i noticed that, because i never look at that stuff. |
