Song lyrics
My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you, lord
But it takes so long, my lord

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you lord
That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My sweet lord (hallelujah)

I really want to see you
Really want to see you
Really want to see you, lord
Really want to see you, lord
But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my lord (hallelujah)

I really want to know you (hallelujah)
Really want to go with you (hallelujah)
Really want to show you lord (ahhh...)
That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah)

Hmmm... (hallelujah)
My sweet lord (hallelujah)
My, my lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my lord (hare krishna)
My, my, my lord (hare krishna)
Oh hm, my sweet lord (krishna, krishna)
Oh-uuh-uh (hare hare)

Now, I really want to see you (hare rama)
Really want to be with you (hare rama)
Really want to see you lord (aaah)
But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my lord (hare krishna)
My sweet lord (hare krishna)
My sweet lord (krishna krishna)
My lord (hare hare)
Hm, hm (Gurur Brahma)
Hm, hm (Gurur Vishnu)
Hm, hm (Gurur Devo)
Hm, hm (Maheshwara)
My sweet lord (Gurur Sakshaat)
My sweet lord (Parabrahma)
My, my, my lord (Tasmayi Shree)
My, my, my, my lord (Guruve Namah)
My sweet lord (Hare Rama)

[fade:]

(hare krishna)
My sweet lord (hare krishna)
My sweet lord (krishna krishna)
My lord (hare hare)

One of the best solo Beatle songs reached No 1 on two occasions in the UK in 1971 and when re-released after his death in 2002.

The first No.1 for a solo ex-Beatle.
Biggest-selling UK single of 1971. Backing vocals by Phil Spector. Originally recorded by Billy Preston (1970).

The similarity of the melody to 'He's So Fine' by The Chiffons led to a fine for 'accidental plagiarism'.

Good ol' George. He's my favorite Beatle. This album is absolutely magnificent. I've listened to most of what the Beatles have done, and I have to say that All Things Must Pass is better than every album the Beatles released with the exception of Abbey Road, which still doesn't surpass it. This song is simple, catchy, and makes you want to confess every sin you've ever committed to the next person you see. When I hear this song, it feels me with joy just as much as "Won't Get Fooled Again" fills me with electrified excitement.

This is one of my favorite songs, no contest. The Indian names being sung behind the lyrics are part of the Hindu tradition. Krishna is an incarnation of the god Vishnu. Rama is as well. The Hare Krishnas are people that worship the god Krishna. This song is George Harrison's devotional, affirming his belief in Hinduism.
