 Denis Wielemans, drummer of the Belgian band Girls In Hawaii, died on Sunday (May 30) at 6am, in a tunnel in Brussels. This sad car accident threw the band & the audience in despair.
At only 28, Denis Wielemans has been killed at dawn, in Brussels. It was 6am when the young man crashed into a traffic light at the entrance of the tunnel Madou. The causes of the accident aren't known yet but the tragic death of the drummer of Girls In Hawaii remembers road dangers. Denis Wielemans died on the spot & the musician's car is in cause. Girls In Hawaii is a Belgian rock band, most of the 6 boys come from Braine-L'Alleud. This melodic pop-rock in indie tradition remembers us of Pavement or Blonde Redhead. In February 2003, their first EP Found In The Ground came out on the independent label 62TV. The band performed in Europe. Their first album From Here To There came out in November 2003. Thanks to the independent label China Shop, the album came out in Japan & the United States in 2005. The band's second album came out in February 2008. More eclectic, Plan Your Escape included the single "This Farm Will End Up On Fire". A new tour came in, followed by the DVD, released in February 2009, Not Here.
