It's reminds me of this stupid little 7th grader who went to my school who claimed that she could write this amazing lyrical masterpieces. Her lyrics would consist of things like "I wanna be a star, I'm gonna go real far". It was pathetic. I think Godsmack could've replaced this song with a much better song in a matter of 10 minutes.

About the lyrics, I have always thought he said "I'd love to hate you", but that doesn't really make sense since he's already hating the person (see the title if in doubt). After having listened the song through four times I'm now convinced that he does in fact sing: "I'd love to hang you".
