Neal Peart, Rush's drummer, his wife died of lukeimia, and then a couple of months later his daughter died in a car accident. So Neal Peart went on a year long cross country harley trip during which he didnt talk to any1 and when it was over he wrote this book called serenity and sulley erna read it and was so moved that he wrote serenity about the books preface. So the lyrics "tragic visions slowly stole my life, tore away everything, cheating me out of my time, im the one who loves you no matter wrong or right and everyday i hold you i hold you with my inner child" are about when Neal Peart's wife and daughter died. When i heard that story i listened to this song and i actually cried. Excellent song.
