this has always been my favorite song by the goo goo dolls. unfortunately, i don't own this cd.
"or are you someone's prayer?" the video for this is really good, also. it's just brilliant, and perfect to listen to. the goo goo dolls have always been ones to come out with good ballads, i also like Iris, Here is Gone, and Naked, but even their more fast paced Big Machine is gooood! |

i love the beggining it soothes my soul and the rest of it all blends with the music and john rzeznik definitly has the best and most calming voice i've ever heard and ever will hear. this is one of my favorite songs and anyone who dislikes it is a @#*&!!. dizzy up the girl is going to be my favorite cd forever. i listen to and sing the entire cd every night and wish people could hear me. every song on this cd i can relate to my life and that is one of many reasons i love it . add me if u love the goo goo dolls |

I read on SongFacts.com that the song is actually about Robby Tackac's (Goo Goo Dolls's bass player&other vocalist) ex-wife, who was a heroin addict. A black balloon is something they use to put heroin in somebody. I hope that sheds some light on it! |

| obviously the inspiration 4 my name b4 i found out that's how they got heroin in ya thanks hershey 15 2 late now though. great song never gets old this is the kind of music people need now not crap like britney or christina although they r fine. goo goo dolls should come out with some more songs |

Best song from one of the best bands out there. Everything about this song is great. The opening melody is great for sad parts of movies. And, like most Goo Goo Dolls songs, has a great ending line:
"And I'll become what you became to me."
I have never gotten sick of this song. |
