| i absolutely love Iris, but Slide is really good too. Black Balloon is better than Slide, but not as good as Iris. Acustic #3 beats all. Of course, there's no such thing as a Goo Goo Dolls song i don't like. |

| It's hard to believe that a song as tummy warming is about an abortion. I mean "Oh May, put your arms around me, what you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful" it makes me go all squirmy and want someone like that. But then "Don't you love the life you killed" makes you realise... |

I would have to say Slide is the most popular and best song by the Goo Goo Dolls. Really great all around song. I love it. I would say this is on the top ten Nostalgia songs list. i absolutely LOVE the goo goo dolls. shame they're not as well known in the uk as in the usa. i think slide is definately a favourite along with iris, big machine, black balloon, naked. OMG they ROCK!!  |

| i always took slide to be like a song about two lovers who were about to get married, and then the girl ran away... i dunno, maybe its just my overreactive imagination, lol, but look:

The priest is on the phone
Your father hit the wall
Your ma disowned you
about how when she ran off, everyone was real disappointed, etc etc, and then:
Don’t suppose I’ll ever know
What it means to be a man
Something I can’t change
I’ll live around it
he won't ever get to hear, "ur now man and wife" sorta thing, so he wont ever know waht its like to be a man.
so then the song continues with the guy persuing the girl and singin in the song about how much he loves her etc etc... i dnt wanna make this into an essay cos im sure u guys already know the song well enough!!
well, those wer my thoughts.
