| When one of your parents is a violent alcoholic that beats you and leaves you in poverty and doesn't give a rat's ass whether you live or die, then tell me they just "don't have a heart"-there's more to it then that and you don't know it until you live it. It was 9 years ago; so what? For some people a traumatic event like that takes a lifetime and then some to get over-it just so happens that their "therapy" for this traumatic event comes throught their music and writing songs. Everybody deals with their issues differently so deal with it. |

| How exactly are a band like good Charlotte posers?
They may be more mainstream and a lot of credible pop-punk/rock bands but if you give their albums a listen it is easy to see that there is a hell of a lot of meaning behind those songs. They weren't written to try to be punk or whatever.
As for Hey Dad... what exactly is your point?
It ISN'T Emotionless, it may be an early demo of it but they are different songs....

As for the point of getting over a traumatization like that, there's no fuckin' way you can get over something like that until a damn long time. I'm sick of this fuckin' poser shit. If you hate someone or something, IGNORE IT. FORGET IT. PUSH IT OUT OF YOUR MIND. DO SOMETHING JUST DON'T GO BITCHING ABOUT IT. It'll ruin YOUR day, everyone elses, and it'll ruin your rep. i loved this song because it allowed me to have an outlet.  almost everything in this song, has something to do with me and my dad. even though he died, i still miss him. thats why i loved this song soooo much!  overall, this song ROX!!!     |

I totally respect Benji and Joel for having the courage to speak out about their past life cos it's a really sensitive issue that some people prefer not to discuss. Not only have they written an exeptional song but they've sent the message out to their fans that even though we all go through complete shit at some point in our life, we have to focus on the future and in the end we'll be alright.

look i agree with most ppl in this thread. it would be hard 2 get over something like that. i have had a shit life n so much has happened 2 me n i have so many mental scars from it all n i kno its gunna take me a lifetime 4 thoes scars to heal.....ppl say scars will never heal...so im wondering how i will cope....anyway my point is they have lived a hard life and like some other ppl (ppl like me)who havent been able 2 live an amazing life like our 1st poster, we have had 2 live thru it and we have tried 2 deal with it but we aint magicians or genies! we cant wish away our problems! life isnt so simple. to the 2st poster, try walkin a mile in their shoes......see how u like it |

im totally with everyone on this page. who are you to say good charlotte are posers? they rock! all their songs are so deep and every time i hear one i hear something that i didn't notice the time before and it makes me love them that much more. obviously you have never been through anything important or you would be able to understand that. GET OVER IT???
