A member of rock group Good Charlotte who fell off the stage minutes into a Brisbane Concert last night, seriously injuring his ankle, continued to play for the duration of the show.
The American band is in the country to promote its new album, Good Morning Revival, and performed at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall last night.
However a short time into the performance, Paul Thomas, the band’s bass player, fell from the stage and seriously sprained his ankle.
Wendy Tucker from Sony BMG, the band’s record label, said she had been at the concert when the accident occurred.
"I did see him take a fairly nasty fall in what I think was the second or third song, and he kind of stood up and kept playing," Ms Tucker said.
Fiona Lakin from Michael Coppell Presents, the band’s tour promoter, said Thomas was "jumping around" on stage when the accident occurred.
Thomas continued to perform following the incident, sitting in a chair with his ankle strapped with ice, she said.
"He was taken to hospital and x-rayed (following the show), which confirmed there were no broken bones."
Remaining shows would go ahead as scheduled, she said, with the band arriving in Sydney this morning.
