The E.P. has been released in the UK on the 5th of February and it has every element it needs for success: sexy fierce vocals, hard riffs and catchy lyrics that alternate with slower and heart-stirring tunes that will amaze you. Overall it's a complete, varied and amazing piece that will get you quickly on repeat mode. The E.P. begins with the first song, Love Bites (So Do I), is a fast-paced piece with powerful riffs complemented by Lizzy's strong, raw vocals and combined with these sexy, bitchy, aggressive lyrics 'I slither like a viper, And get you by the neck I know a thousand ways to help you forget about her' that make a wild mixture and an amazing song. The E.P. continues on a softer note with the second track, Rock Show – a song about those magic high-like feelings a fan experiences and the blood-pumping atmosphere at a rock concert but the rough sound and strong tunes return with the third song – Daughters of Darkness. With its catchy tune and energetic feel it's a song that will turn on the audience and won't make you want to be Far From the Madding Crowd but in the middle of it. Finally, the E.P. ends on a positive note with a heart-warming, amazing ballad – Here's To Us – a three minute toast celebrating friends, love and life with all its rights and wrongs. With this I can honestly say that the band left us wanting for more and I personally am looking forward to the new album. This E.P. is just a taste of what the album is and hell yeah I'm sure it's gonna be great. At the moment, they are touring in the UK so don't forget to check them out in or near you town. |

43 posts | Actually, the made their debut in 1999 with an album called Don't Mess With the Time Man. It was just Lzzy and Arejay from who they are now at the time, but their dad was the bassist. Then in 2001, they released Breaking the Silence. Later in their career, they released an EP called One and Done (2006). It's Not You was released on that, but was brought back on their self-titled album in 2009. They weren't always a hard rock band, but their music has been good from the start. There is no telling where they will go in the future, especially with the release of their new album The Strange Case Of... in four days. Going from Christian music to full blown Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll, they are one hell of a band... "Welcome to the Eye of the Storm" a Halestorm that is! |
