Following Michael Jackson's steps, Iggy Pop will be in press conference on the Net ! Today (March 26) at 11am, before the release of his new album Préliminaires on May 18.
Today at 11am, like Michael Jackson some weeks ago, Iggy Pop will be in press conference, on iggypoppreliminaires.com.
He'll talk about his inspirations, his love for French culture & Michel Houellebecq's influence in his work. Don't miss the occasion to talk with this artist. The iguana dresses himself as a crooner & will release his new album Préliminaires on May 18.
After the split of The Stooges in 1973, following the crazy but not really sold Raw Power, Iggy Pop has been encouraged by David Bowie. Bowie went to see Iggy in psychiatric hospital in 1975, after lost sessions with guitarists James Williamson. Bowie & Iggy moved to Berlin in 1976. Iggy released his first 2 solo albums The Idiot & Lust For Life, produced by Bowie. In this new wave era, the albums were successful, thanks to "China Girl", later covered by Bowie. The albums Soldier, Party & Zombie Birdhouse have been failures in the early 80's. Iggy teamed again with Bowie for Blah Blah Blah in 1986, commercial & artistic success. At the same time, Iggy became an actor. Brick By Brick, with Slash from Guns N' Roses, is his best album, including "Candy", a duet with Kate Pierson. American Caesar was an intense album, with a muse & greatness. In 1990, he played in John Waters' "Cry Baby" with Johnny Depp & in Jim Jarmusch "Dead Man", he got his latest hit in 1993, "In The Death Car" (N°2 in France). Iggy Pop is the grandfather of punk, an icon in American rock, with incendiary concerts. 30 years later, The Stooges have been reformed in 2003.
