Nice to know you, goodbye"...well...i gotta give the song kudos for originality. Writing a song about your arm falling asleep is somehow conspicuously creative and strange that no one before thought to write about that...oh well each metaphore they put into it made out such a common thing to be rare, and thats talent...gotta love good talent

Whoever said this song is directly refering to his arm being asleep should go back to there references..This song conjures a moment in ones life when you just lose perspective about your closest things....So it's basically a song about gaining perspective on a situation.
