Interpol Australian tour next February

Moody New York four-piece Interpol will make their way down under this summer for their biggest Australian tour to date.

Last seen here back in 2005 for a run of headline shows as well as a spot at Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass, the quartet will be pushing tracks from Our Love to Admire, their third full-length release.

After debut album Turn On the Bright Lights became one of the most talked about albums of 2002, Interpol dropped follow-up album Antics late in 2004, consolidating their trademark blend of post-punk and new wave. Our Love to Admire marries that formula with greater pop sensibilities and rich production, thanks largely to the production of Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Mew).

Sunday February 17: Metro City, Perth
Tuesday February 19: Great Hall, Brisbane
Thursday February 21: Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Monday February 25: Festival Hall, Melbourne
Tuesday February 26: Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday November 2.

That's right!! I've already seen them twice this year and I happen to be in New Zealand for 6 months right now; they're playing here 2 DAYS before I had back home! It's like they're giving me a farewell concert... Can't wait!
