t’s been four years but the day has finally come for Urban Desi star, Jay Sean to release his highly anticipated album, ‘My Own Way’ (2Point9/Jayded Records)! Luckily for all you Jay Sean fans out there, we will be bringing you every Jay Sean exclusive under the sun, from exclusive video footage, an in deth Q and A, and find out Jay's future plans are as we follow the man himself through his crazy whirlwind promo tour. Jay’s first stop today – Birmingham for album signings, and on the way as we listen to the CD, he gives us an insight into the album itself…

“I’m mad excited man, because I personally believe that I’ve just made a really great RnB album,” said Jay. And that’s exactly how to describe the tweleve trak album which features production by J-Remy of the Orange Factory and Alan Samspon from the UK, plus collabos with Thara on the track ‘M.U.R.D.E.R.’ and American Idol finalist Jared Cotter, on the track, ‘Stuck in the Middle.’ And if you have any doubt of Jay’s words, then count on us to tell you, he’s definitely not lying! The album is a genuine, true blue RnB album, one that you can pop in and enjoy from start to finish. True, there are no Desi/South Asian influenced tracks like in the previous album, but what you do get is an honest slice of Jay Sean and what he’s all about.

“Everything on the album was on my terms… everything regarding this project was in my hands,” said Jay. The majority of the tracks on this album have to do with something that Jay’s gone through personally, so when you listening to it, it’s as if you’re getting a unprecedented look into Jay’s life from the man himself. From tracks like, ‘Stay,’ about a difficult break up to ‘Good Enough,’ about interracial relationships. And of course Jay doesn’t leave out the club bangers like, ‘I Won’t Tell,’ and ‘Waiting.’ When you listen to the tracks it’s hard not to imagine them on mainstream radio across the US, as it already is in the UK.

This album definitely shows the growth of Jay not only musically, vocally as an artist, but as a person as well. Gone is the angry young hip hopper, who’s been replaced with a suave sophisticated man, singing about love and real life relationships. There’s no doubt this is the biggest album to hit the Urban Desi scene of late and just listening to the album stripping away all the hype all the glamour it’s plain to see Jay’s created an album that you can sit back, relax and enjoy.
