Less than 2 years after her previous album Appelle-Moi Jen, that announced a turning in her career, Jenifer Bartoli releases L'Amour Et Moi. Longer & well-produced, the singer's fifth albums follows the same way as her previous one, in an electro-pop style. The first single "Sur Le Fil" has been sent to radios. This efficient & catchy song shows the artist as an artist with "an iron fist" & "a silk glove" to show her duality, between her desires & reason. If everything only seems to be part of "destiny", love takes an important place in the singer's new songs. The 12 tracks from the album talk about the singer's cases with love, from one way to another. Sometimes, it's just much ! We understood that, Jenifer prefers lovers to husbands who "handcuff to their beds" in the title-track "L'Amour Et Moi". This tender ballad is the second single, a nice one just like "Donne-Moi Le Temps" & "C'Est De L'Or". This song is completely the opposite of "J'Attends L'Amour" (2002), from Jenifer's debut album : "Love & I, it makes two of us, don't fall in love each other" she sings. Many lyrics are too light, like those written by Yohann Malory, newly signed to Mercury France/Universal. This album has few ballads. All right because we won't listen to "Prisonnière" or "Mes Nuits" too many times, we'd rather listen to the opening track "Les Jours Électriques", written by Emmanuel Da Silva. This song is the most efficient on the album, with percussion & electronic gimmicks. This album has been produced by Silvio Lisbonne, from the duet Mutine. He brought freshness into Jenifer's universe. Our favourite tracks are "Orage En Vue" & "Est-Ce Que Tu M'Aimes ?" but we don't like the "Eskimo kisses" from "Hello". No real surprises on this album, except the track "Tu Ne Dis Rien", comparing the Milky Way to a love "disaster". On the Deluxe edition, there are 2 other tracks. "Y'A Pas Jen" is a reggae song with easy rhymes - but it works ! The uptempo "La Pudeur" is quiet, then it becomes energic, surprising with a series of rhythms, more difficult than the other songs. Jenifer continues in the same way with L'Amour Et Moi, a real follow-up to Appelle-Moi Jen. The singer tells her confessions, without turning round, on trendy electro-pop tracks. Not more, not less.
