AboutJessie James Decker, born as Jessica Rose James on April 12, 1988 in Vicenza - in the Italian region of Veneto on an American military base. She goes by her nickname "Jessie" and had won her first talent contest in Baker, Louisiana, at age nine, singing "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart".
By then, she had already been writing songs on a plastic guitar and had performed at SeaWorld and in Warner Robins, Georgia in 2000. At age fifteen, she made weekly trips to Nashville to hone her songwriting skills.

After auditioning for and being rejected by most of the country labels, one of her songs attracted attention to Mercury Records which resulted in her being offered a recording contract and was then signed to the label.

She released her debut self-titled album Jessie James in 2009; which peaked at #23 on Billboard 200 chart, with her breakthrough lead single Wanted climbing to #40 on Billboard Hot 100.

2010 - Jessie released her single Boys In The Summer which landed at #58 on US Country chart. Wrote and recorded a song titled Dear John presumably about her short-lived rumoured romance with John Mayer and got some setbacks with its lyrical content and similarities to a song of the same name (Dear John) that was written by Taylor Swift around the same time.

2012 - Released stand-alone singles like When You Say My Name and Military Man.

In 2013, she married former American footballer Eric Decker, adding Decker to her credited surname. And released a song I Do with a music video on YouTube to commemorate the special day/footage from her wedding. That same year, the couple stepped into reality TV with their show: Eric & Jessie: Game On which aired on E! from September 29, 2013, to October 25, 2017.

Right after signing with Epic Records, Decker released an EP through iTunes titled Comin' Home on April 18, 2014.

2015 - Released Lights Down Low and her first Christmas EP This Christmas.

2017 - On February 17, 2017, she released a five-track EP, Gold, and a surprise live EP on June 9, 2017, titled Blackbird Sessions. Later that same year, her second official studio album, Southern Girl City Lights came out on October 13, 2017. The album received positive reviews, reaching #1 on the US Country chart.

2018 - Released a bonus track Flip My Hair that was included on a Target exclusive deluxe version of Southern Girl City Lights album as well as a single digitally on iTunes; a stand alone single called Boots and a Christmas album called On This Holiday.

2019 - Jessie did her own cover version/rewriting some of the lyrics of the song Old Town Road originally sung by Lil Nas X and released a single called Roots and Wings.

On September 18, 2020, it was announced and stated by Decker herself that she had signed a deal with Atlantic / Warner Records.
