AboutBorn 24th January 1979, coming from a musical family in Paisley, Scotland, Jill Jackson started playing guitar at the age of nine and wrote her first song at eleven. By the age of fifteen she was performing professionally with a country band called Jacksonville.

Jill made her name back in 2004 as front woman of UK rock band Speedway. The band's cover of Christina Aguilera's 'Genie in a Bottle' scored Jill and Speedway their 1st UK Top Ten hit. The band went on to enjoy further success throughout 2004 and 2005 including a 2nd Top Ten hit. After the band split, Jackson took the decision to move to Nashville for a few months to hone her songwriting talents. Having worked and co-wrote with the likes of Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams), Stargate (Rihanna and Alexis Jordon) and Pamela Sheyne (Christina Aguilera) Jackson is no stranger to working with some of the industries most celebrated writers. Jill has toured with Natalie Imbruglia and supported musicians such as Albert Lee, Roger McGuinn , Bryan Adams, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Runrig. In late 2008, Jill supported Nashville singer-songwriter Kevin Montgomery on his 50 states in 50 days tour across America.

In 2006 Jill released her first solo record – a self-titled collection of acoustic tracks that offers a mix of brilliantly crafted lyrics and beautiful melodies. Jill's talent as a songwriter came to the attention of former Spice Girl Melanie C, who covered two of the songs ('Don't Let Me Go' and 'What If I Stay') for her own fourth solo album. Jill's work has also attracted attention from TV and film with her songs appearing on shows such as Eastenders, Shameless and Lip Service as well as UK film starring Neve Campbell "I Really Hate My Job". After her song 'Just Not Myself' being featured in the penultimate episode of BBC Three's Lip Service in December 2010. Her connection with the show led to appearances alongside one of its stars, singer and actress Heather Peace. After gigging together in Glasgow and Brighton towards the end of 2010, the pair embarked on a two-week tour of the UK in April 2011.

Jill released her debut album 'Back To Zero' in February 2011.
In late 2011 a limited edition, fans-only album 'The Ones That Got Away' was released via Jill's official website. It was a collection of songs that didn't make it onto Jill's previous albums and alternate versions of previously released tracks (notably, a new version of Speedway's "Save Yourself").
May 14th 2012 Jill released her second album 'Getaway Driver' written and produced by Jackson herself. An album of autobiographical nature, small life stories that add up to one big story - with the exception of the title track 'Getaway Driver' which tells the story of a bank robbery!
