The magazine "Télé Star", out today (September 26), revealed that Johnny's rest in hospital in July took place because he had colon cancer. "Diagnosed, operated & recovered" the singer said.
Yesterday (September 25), Johnny Hallyday continued his "Tour 66" at Lille's Zénith. In an interview for the magazine "Télé Star", he reveals that he has been operated for colon cancer, after he had dislocated his hip on a boat pontoon in July. During a check-up, asked by his insurance, doctors found "a little cancer on the colon. They removed it, now it's over." Johnny has been "surprised" by the discover of his illness, but he added : "I have nothing anymore. It has been taken in time, at the start, I had nearly nothing."
Listen to Catherine Rambert, from "Télé Star", called by FranceInfo here.
According to the site Purepeople, "the biopsy taken on the polyp revealed a benign tumour. That's why, a posteriori, no treatment has been given him. [...] For Johnny, who hasn't been very ill, when we remove something from him, it's a cancer !" It ends like : "This affair will be spreaded in media for a while !"
At 66, the singer should have medical exams, asked by his insurance company for his goodbye tour. But here's the flip side, when somebody is a star. Michael Jackson is the latest, for example...
The following of his tour until 2010 hasn't been put into question.
