Wash away the thoughts inside
That keep my mind away from you No more love and no more pride. The thoughts are all I have to do. Oooo..remember when it rained Felt the ground and looked up high and called your name Oooo...remember when it rained In the darkness I remain Tears of hope run down my skin Tears for you that will not dry They magnify the one within Let the outside slowly die... Oooo..remember when it rained Felt the ground and looked up high and called your name Oooo..remember when it rained In the water I remain...running down. Running down, running down running down, running down, running down, running down, ---Piano interlude--- ahhhhhhhh.....running down |

5 posts | ssems to me the CD "Closer" has many songs that could relate to love and somehow God. This song is a good example because of the looking up and everything. My Confessions is a good song to for spiritual thoughts

5 posts | I don't think this is about ANYONE dying. I think he loved someone and it got screwed up by on or the other of them. And now he's trying to "wash away the thoughts" that "keep his mind away" from anything besides this one love...but maybe I'm just the romantic. This is probably my favorite Josh Groban song, it is my anthem. My best friend and I want to sing it in our chorus concert one year. That's the end of my ramblings. |

33 posts | I love this song. I don't know if it's necessarily talking about somebody dying but I put more of a meaning of a girlfriend that left and he's just sitting and looking back on the good times. Because I don't know about other people but when I'm sad I like to walk in the rain. But I listen to this song constantly. I love it. |

7 posts | Talk about a magnificent song! As for the meaning of it... I am not quite sure. There are many possibilities. This was my song when I went through a time of one death after another, but it was also my song when my closest friend, who was also my boyfriend, left to serve in the military overseas.
One thing, though, that I think is an underlying message in this song, is that even though it can be painful sometimes to look at memories of the ones you love/loved, remembering is good... and important. But to me, the most amazing part of the song is the following: Tears of hope run down my skin Tears for you that will not dry They magnify the one within And me, the outside, slowly die God Bless! 2 posts | though I don't really know if this song is speaking of the, it truly gets your emotions going, I've been listening to this song almost non-stop for a week, since I've think I've just lost one of the closest friends of my life, and it seems to speak my heart. How no matter what happens in life, or what other thoughts that take me away from thinking of that special someone, that you'll never forget them, and your love for them will never die....yea just my personal though... |

38 posts | I'm not sure this has to do with death..but it obvious he is looking back and remember times gone by. But the line "felt the ground and looked up high and callled your name" is very somber sounding. It's a good song though. But anything he does is good!!!! |

39 posts | I adore this song. I dont think there is nesscesarily a death here...Odds are, probably, but it could just be a person, ie of the girlfriend type, that left or something. But I do think it was probably someone, of the girlfriend type, that died.
Running down....running down...running down... |

1 posts | I think this song is about someone he had loved who was killed, and he's realizing it now, looking back on times when they were together. And one particular one would be when they were together while it was raining. |

2 posts | Any thoughts about the meaning of this song?
What do you think is this about death? Is the rain the sorrow of being left behind? Is that why he is looking up into the sky? |
