My cousins and I (14, 10, 7, & 6 yrs old) love Julie Brown songs, and came up with some even funnier lyrics to the song. Our version is called 'The Homecoming Queen has got a Sandwhich'. So here are our lyrics: "It was Homecoming Night at my high school Everyone was there, it was totally cool I was real excited, I almost wet my jeans 'Cause my best friend Debbie was Homecoming Queen She looked so pretty in pink chiffon. (Chiffon) Riding the float with her tiara on. (Tiara on) Holding this humongous sand-which in her hand. (sandwhich) She looked straight out of Disneyland! You know that Cinderella ride I mean definitely an E-ticket. (E-ticket) The crowd was cheering, everyone was stoked I mean it was like the whole school was totally coked or something. The band was playing 'Evergreen' Then all of a sudden, somebody screamed: Look out! The Homecoming Queen's got a sandwhich!!! Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen's got a sandwhich! Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a sandwhich! Debbie's smiling, and waving her sandwhich Biting off cheerleaders one by one Oh! Buffy's pom poms just got splattered with bits Oh no, Misty's head just ate the bits! My best friend is on a eating spree Stop it, Debbie, you're embarrassing me! How could you do what you just did Are you having a really bad period? Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen's got a sandwhich! Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a sandwhich! Stop it, Debbie, you're making a mess You're getting mayonnaise all over your dress An hour later, ,the Chef arrived By then the entire Breakfast Club had died - no big loss You wouldn't believe what they brought to stop her Ketchup, Mustard... even some pepper! Throw down your sandwhich and chips and come out of the float! Debbie didn't listen to what the Chef said, She bit and swallowed, and now the home ec teacher's dead! Oh, it's really sad, but kinda of a relief, I mean we had this big test coming up next week... Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen's got a sandwhich! Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a sandwhich! Debbie's really having a blast! She's wasting half of the class! The Chef fired a warning squirt that blew her off that float. I tried to scream Duck! but it stuck in my throat. She hit the ground and did a flip; it was real acrobatic. But I was crying so hard, I couldn't work my Instamatic. I ran down to Debbie, I had to find out. What made her do it, why'd she freak out? I saw the Ketchup had got her right in the ear. I knew then... the end was near. So I ran down and said in her good ear. Debbie, why'd you do it? She raised her head and smiled and said. I did it for Johnny. Johnny, well like who's Johnny? Answer me Debbie who's Johnny. Does anybody here know a Johnny? Are you Johnny? There was one guy named Johnny. But he was a total geek. He always had food in his braces. Answer me Debbie who's Johnny. Oh God this is like that movie Citizen Kane You know where you later find out Rosebud was a sled But we'll never know who Johnny is because like she's dead Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen's got a sandwhich! Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a Everybody run Everybody run the Homecoming Queen's got a" I copied the lyrics from this site and wrote in our changes. We love changing the words to some of our favorite songs. We have a version for Lonestar's 'I'm Already There' ('I'm Not Really There' is ours) and I have a version of Loretta Lynn's 'Coal Miner's Daughter' (Mine is 'Mushroom Miner's Daughter') All are really hiarious. | 1 posts | Song comment @ The Homecoming Queens Got A Gun You can find it on the (vinyl) LP "Trapped in the Body of a White Girl", Sire label, #25634-1. I picked it up at a 2nd hand record shop; they're not too hard to find. I don't know if it's available on CD, but I'm guessing it probably is, since she's still around and active. On the Cover: Redhead (yes, she's white), dangly earrings down to her collarbone, pulling a black glove off with her teeth, and showing lots of cleavage. More of her (head to toe) on the back cover. Inside sleeve has a third (b&w) photo, plus all the lyrics. Merely reading the lyrics doesn't do the song justice. You HAVE to hear it. It starts out really slow, very early-60s six-eight slow-dance-like, then changes big time. Lots of great sound effects, big orchestration, screaming guitar solo, and pauses for effect. It's the sort of song that sticks with you for days. Same LP has "I Like 'Em Big and Stupid" and "Girl Fight Tonight", another must-hear tune. |
