AboutJulie Piétri was born on May 1, 1957 in Algier, Algeria. In 1962, her family moved to France. In 1975, she released her first 7", "On S'Est Laissé Faire" & in 1977, she joined La Bande À Basile, playing a gypsy woman. In 1979, she released her first solo 7" "Magdalena" & the following year, she released her debut album Julie. In 1982, she released "Je Veux Croire" & "Et C'Est Comme Si", French version of The Pretenders' "I Go To Sleep" : the following year, she released a duet with Herbert Léonard, "Amoureux Fous", followed by her second album À Force De Toi in 1985.
In 1986, Julie added her name Piétri & released "Ève Lève-Toi", from her third album Le Premier Jour. In 1989, she released her fourth album La Légende Des Madones, including "Immortelle", "Salammbô" & "Etrangère". In 1992, her daughter Manon was born.
Julie's compilation Féminin Singulière came out in 1995. In 2003, she participated to TF1's TV show "Retour Gagnant", became the winner & released Lumières the same year, including covers & new songs. After many concerts in 2006 & 2007, she released her cover album Autour De Minuit.
