After "La Jupe En Laine", the seducing 61-year-old man chose a song written by Benjamin Biolay, "Sous Sa Grande Ombrelle", second single from his album Où S'En Vont Les Avions ?, still in highest chart positions since its release...
Julien Clerc released his new album Où S'En Vont Les Avions ? on September 15, produced by Benjamin Biolay. Carla Bruni, Gérard Manset, Gérard Duguet-Grasser, David McNeil, Jean-Loup Dabadie & Maxime Le Forestier wrote lyrics.
Benjamin Biolay, who was responsible of Henri Salvador's come-back with "Jardin D'Hiver" in 2000, also wrote 2 songs himself. "He's a genius. For me, he is the symbol of something new & of musical culture" Julien Clerc said : after "La Jupe En Laine", he chose one of the songs written by Biolay, "Sous Sa Grande Ombrelle".
Listen to a short clip of "Sous Sa Grande Ombrelle" here.
For this new album, 3 years after Double Enfance, Julien covers a song given to Maxime Le Forestier, already available on "Né Quelque Part" singer's new album : "Restons Amants". He also covers a song composed for Carla Bruni, already available on the French First Lady's new album : "Déranger Les Pierres".
Julien Clerc has been interviewed by Jean-Pierre Pasqualini from the magazine "Platine" : "My father was a Gaullist, a litteral one because he did Normale Sup. He hated communists, especially Aragon, whose personality & political engagement irritated him. However, he told me that Aragon was one of the first French poets. Finally, he loved artistically someone he hated politically. Art isn't melted with politics" he said.
The singer will go on tour in 2009. He will perform at Paris' Casino from January 6 to 18, 2009.
