AboutShe has always been singing since she was born. In 1985 she got her diploma in Mrs. Prof. Anna Narkiewicz's piano class. She begun by cooperation with reggae bands Rastar and Zgoda. Then there was Tilt (the song "Mówiê Ci, ¿e"). In 1988 she made her scene debut on Festival of Baltic Countries in Karlsham with a song " Córeczko chcia³abym, ¿ebyœ by³a ch³opcem", for which she got a festival's special award and, what is more important, received some publicity in Poland. However the specific climate in Polish show-business in those days has slowed down her success, that's why the years 1988 – 1994 are years of increased cooperation with other artists.

Ideas, experience and contacts from this period resulted in publishing in 1995 her first author's record "Kamieñ" ("Stone"). This album, recorded for Zic-Zac Music Company with such musicians as: K. Pszona, F. Sojka, J. Torres, A. Affek, P. Remiszewski, M. Urbaniak, K. Herdzin, M. Podkowa and realized by Micha³ Przytu³a, hit the niche on polish music scene. The record, oscillating in climates of soul, jazz and R&B, met high appreciation of critics and the whole branch and quickly became "a golden record". Year 1996 was the time of deserved triumph for Kayah. Granted with the most prestigious award – "Fryderyk '95" for the best Polish female singer and appreciated as "The Personality of the Year 1996" by Telewizja Polska (National Polish Television), she became an unchallenged star.

She strengthened her position on the market with the next album named "Zebra", published by BMG Poland in 1997. She entrusted realization again to Micha³ Przytu³a and vigorous set of musicians, supported by Kasia Stankiewicz and Mietek Szczeœniak. The album, promoted with videos to songs "Na jêzykach" and "Supermenka", quickly became "a platinum record", and Kayah was honored with the title of the best female singer in referendum of all radio journalists "Playbox". She was awarded also: "Polityka's Passport", "Machiner 1997" for the "Zebra" record and nominations for hit songs: "Na jêzykach" and "Supermenka" and for videos to these songs. Kayah was also given 8 nominations in the next edition of the "Fryderyki" awards in following categories: best female singer, pop record, composer, songwriter and for videos "Na jêzykach" and "Supermenka", as well as in "the hit single of the year" category for the above mentioned songs. Gaining four "Fryderyk" awards strengthened her position on the music market.

In 1998 Kayah took part in "Pop" advertising campaign, and got awards for the music composed to this ad on "Crack Film", "Kreatura" and "Z³ote Or³y" festivals.
The same year she also started to run her own TV program "To by³o grane" ("This used to be played") on TVN television.

Two years after the "Zebra" record, Kayah decided to wore together with Goran Bregoviæ, what effected with their joint album "Kayah i Bregoviæ" ("Kayah and Bregoviæ").
The record, promoted with songs "Œpij kochany œpij" and "Prawy do lewego", has already sold in Poland in over 700.000 copies (7 times "platinum record"), becoming the greatest artistic and commercial success of recent years. Similar success was achieved with performance on Sopot Festival and joint concert of Kayah and Goran on 10th, November on "S³u¿ewiec" in Warsaw for over 50.000 people. Success of the record in Poland led to publishing it in,.european countries, including Italy, where it gained 7th position during the first two weeks of sale. Promotion of the record was connected to the press-tour in Italy and than in France.

The new Kayah album "JAKA JA KAYAH" was launched on 12th of May 2000. 4 days were enough to sell 50.000 copies, 10 days to make it the record of the month in 68 radio stations in Poland, 30 days to have radio stations played the first single "Jaka Ja Kayah" 4000 times! 10 concerts from the series "Wielka Majówka Radia Zet" with Kayah was enough to have 500.000 people of audience.

Kayah performed on 18th May in Wadowice on the occasion of Pope's Birthday, when she sang the song "Anio³ wiedzia³". Later on she performed in Opole, where she was given 4 "SUPERJEDYNKA" awards (the most important award of TVP) in following categories: Best Female Singer, Hit Single, Video and The Record of the Year.
She also performed at the opening of the Polish edition of MTV.
The record "Jaka Ja Kayah" was also awarded 6 nominations in 2000 edition of "Fryderyki" awards. Kayah was awarded "Yach" award for the best acting performance in "Jaka Ja Kayah" video. She was also nominated for the local artist on the MTV Music Awards andgiven the Radio Eska award in "media personality of the year". Kayah also took part in the advertising campaign of internet portal Arena.

At the end of 2000 Kayah sang in duet with Cesaria Evora, which resulted in launching on February 2001 a joint single "EMBARCACAO" with a beautiful video realized by J. Szoda, B. Pawica, F. Kovcin. This video got an award for best director on 10th Jubilee Festival "Yach Film".
In the meantime Kayah took part in the advertising campaign of "In blue" shoes.
Kayah's ring, given to auction of Wielka Orkiestra Œwi¹tecznej Pomocy, was sold for 25.000 PLN.
The single "To nie ptak" ("This is not a bird") was published on the mix.

In 2001 Kayah became the WWF ambassador in Poland. The same year she established with
K. Pszona producing joint-venture. The first effect of their work is 7 songs on the last Ewa Bem's record "Mówiê tak myœlê nie" ("I say yes, I think no").
Kayah performed also as a guest on T.Love and Liroy records.
The artist also sits on the honour Capitule of The Comitee of Protecting Childrens Rights.
In September of 2002 Kayah recorded a duet single with Michal Zebrowski "Dobry potwor nie jest zly" that promoted his album "Poczytaj mi Tato 2". A year later she took part in another project for kids, this time she sung polish version of Phil Collins song for Disney movie - "Brother Bear". Kayah took part in commercial campaign for Radio Zet "More Music".
The latest Kayah album titled "Stereo Typ", preceded by the hit single "Testosteron", was released at the end of August 2003, and immediately reached top of the charts and level of Golden Record. Video for first single was awarded with Grand Prix of Yach Film Festival. One of greatest successes of Kayah last year was her awesome show at Sopot Festival 2003. Autumn 2003 Kayah traveled across Poland with club tour – "Stereo Tour", she gathered about 15000 audience. For the "Stereo Typ" album Kayah got 7 nominations for Polish Phonographic Academy Award "Fryderyk 2003" in following categories: pop record, female vocalist, composer, songwriter, music production, best song of the year and video.
