Especially if it's negative and it just lingers sometimes... Be Still, Hole, Don't Waste Your Time, One Minute and Can I Have A Kiss are so angsty but so damn relate-able. Even though I can understand that some didn't like the album cause it wasn't "musical" enough, I also know that this album is the exact opposite. The melodies catch on later, not on the first two or three listens. It's really one of the gems of 2007 including Vanessa's Heroes And Thieves, Mary's Growing Pains and definitely Alicia's As I Am... Give it a chance. ESPECIALLY if you've liked Kelly's songs in the beginning. The hard songs are harder, the soft songs are softer (just like she promised) and it's just an amazing experience. Breakaway comes close but this album is the BEST..... 4.5(+)/5 --------freshofftheboat-----> |

 118 posts | * offtopic : apologise for the previous coment, it is not mine I wasa actually expecting more songs like "Addicted", but I also wished "Addicted" to have been sung by Amy Lee.... Anyway, the worst part of this album is the lack of her possible vocals, what is she keeping her voice for?!? the less worst part is the lack of depht. Yeah, you read it right, it lacks. I have read and heard all of the things she said, that this is personal, darker and so, and so... but it just doesn't goes on that way, mostly because of the singing. You just don't feel it personal, you don't believe her, not convinced. Another bad part is the way the songs are organized, never thought thet it really matters how are they ordered in the album but it does, and that way ordered they are just going one after another without any point. Another bad part is the cover. I swear I thought it was a re-releasing of Norah Jones last album, it could have been more original. so as I have gained enough hatred with my post I will finish it like this - 4/10 only for the song Irvine and for the instruments. |

And why should anyone expect her to put out something that isn't her? Yeah, Thankful was bright and poppy--It was controlled by Fox duh! And Breakaway was a huge hit, and look at all of the hit songs from that album, all written or co-written by Kelly. People are just afraid to see what a talented person she really is, sorry to all of you 12 year olds out there who were expecting another cd full of "Since U Been Gone" songs. This CD shows ya just how much love can really do to a person, if you dont like it don't like it, why waste the time leaving a completely blank ranking. Rate it honest people, give her a shot, she is finally breaking away for real this time! |

--- Funny how, this is KC's third album and the second one boosted her rep greatly. So get your facts straight. And yes, Thankful was an album in its own right. May not have been the greatest of albums but it did have some good songs. A Moment Like This Miss Independent Low Beautiful Disaster (Not the live) Anytime & You Thought Wrong I'm guessing whoever said it doesnt count as an album hasn't listened to all of the songs :] My december still rocks   |

I'm going to review each song alone, let's start with "How I Feel" now this song it a hit-to-be it's really catchy and the music is hot. "Sober" is a beautiful balled one of Clarkson's most haunting songs, it's a little boring in the begining but once you listen, you will fall in love. "Yeah" and "Hole" are little weird, but really really great, the vocals and the lyrics are amazing. Now about "Never Again" I really love this song. I don't know why people want to listen to the stupit Avril Lavinge songs instead of this brillant Kelly Clarkson fuck-off-boyfriend song ?!!.... moving on to "Haunted" this is the only song that really sounds like Evanescence, the music is too much but the vocals are great... nice balance.... nice song. I don't know why but I'm starting to really love this song "Don't Waste You're Time" it's a soft rock song that you will sing alone with it everytime... simply amazing. The worest song on this album is "Judas" I don't know why Kelly want to release as single, maybe because it's a darker version of "Since U Been Gone".. I don't know... I don't like it much, it's annoying some times. now moving on to the dramatic "Be Still" now this song is something new... very sexy, very hot. "One Minute" will get you electrified with its hot music... i just love it. This song is what the critics are buzzing about "Irvine/Chivas" they say this song is a bold move made by Clarkson... I couldn't agree more. This song is really Beautiful. Now I'm going to talk about what I think the greatest song ever made by Kelly Clarkson these are no singel material... these songs are making me speechless. The amazing accoustic "Maybe" and "Can I Have A Kiss" are simply the best songs on the album, the music the lyrics and oooooh the vocals are so haunting. Obviously I'm a big KC fan and you may think I'm lying but I'm not !! If you don't belive me go buy this amazing cd and give it a try... you will be amazed with what Kelly can do... sure she's not the best songwriter, but she is learning ! her vocals are getting better and better and her albums will keep getting better and better.... but for now i think this is the ultimate Kelly Clarkson album and the best of 2007... yet (....waiting for Britney's and Celine's  ) ! that's all |

Kelly Clarkson let "us"- her fans- into her life basically just by writing this album and making such amazing music from all of her thoughts and everything. For Kelly to be able to write such personal marterial and let it all out into the world, dang, that takes ALOT! This album is an album that many people can be related too. Everyone goes thru bad breakups or being heartbroken or being angry or missing someone, and you cant sit there reading this and tellin me that you dont or havent. I know i relate alot to these songs, and thats why i love the album so much. her voice is INCREDIBLE on it, especially when she shows her range in songs like Irvine, sober, Can I Have a Kiss and Chivas.. she also shows that she still has the rock voice with those like Hole, Never Again, How I feel, Judas and Haunted. Every single song on this album is catchy in one way or another. i love how mixed up it all is. im a sucker for the slow emotional songs, and i love it all... everyone has a different taste in music, and if youre a real kelly clarkson fan then this is an album you should definitely like. i dont understand how people love the songs you can "rock out" to that dont have ANY meaning to them whatsoever, and have no care in the world for those songs that a sensational singer/songwriter creates that actually have such meaning.. Kelly Clarkson did a fantastic job with this album and im so0 happy she refused to take out any of her songs because i dont know what this album would be like if she were to do that. it IS like a story from beginning to end.. |

Her new songs are very gloomy and bitter and even the song titles have a negative taste to them, (which is fine when mixed with more positive songs too) but all it seems to be is sad depressed stuff... I realize that Kelly fired her old manager or whatever because they wouldn't let her do her own thing and write her own music, and this album was like a diary outlet for her... but I don't know I liked her last CD way better.  |

Never Again - (Rock/Pop) Ok I love this song its really catchy I still don't get how it didn't to better on the radio. I know people who aren't kelly fans who love it great pop/rock song --- 10/10 02. One Minute - (Dance/Pop) This song would make a great single and do great at clubs only thing is her voice sounds alittle werid but hey i kept singing along to it --- 8/10 03. Hole- (Rock) K I like this song great lyrics and I love rocker Kelly. Rock song and I see myself rocking out to this song so good on rock stations. --- 9/10 04. Sober - (Country Rock/Pop Ballad) Her voice sounds amazing to this song definally grammy worthy. I don't get how they say its to slow for radio when I hear songs that are slow kinda like this song --- 10/10 05. Don't Waste Your Time -Man this song is great i know alot of us can relate to this song pop song great sing along song and single worthy --- 9/10 06. Judas - (Rock/Pop) This song is again rock Kelly, I like it. Needs to grow on me more to love it --- 8.5/10 07. Haunted - (Rock) K this song is kinda creepy, but in a good way. Love it! Rock out kelly! It could be a good radio rock song --- 10/10 08. Be Still - (R&B)/Rock) Kelly's vocie is so amazing on this song! Great chill out or getting in the mood song HeHe! --- 10/10 09. Maybe - (Songwriter type) Love the tour version, and also this version great song. i just can't help but to sway a little! HeHe!! --- 10/10 10. How I Feel - (Pop) Really cacthy song. Will do great on radio and easy to sing along to. --- 8/10 11. Yeah - (Funky/Pop) This is my least favorite song on the CD but I do love it. The "Yeaaah" parts seem weird alittle. I know I might be the only one who thinks that. --- 7.5/10 12. Can I Have A Kiss - (Country Pop/Ballad) This song is so beautiful! Love the lyrics and man at the end when she goes up high! Wow! This would do great on country stations, the only thing I kinda don't like is the "Can I/Can I" part where it repeats it. --- 9/10 13. Irvine - (Songwriter/Pop Ballad) K this song I didn't like it very much the first time I listened to it, but now I listen to it and I hear the emotion in her voice! now I love it!! --- 9/10 14. Chivas [Hidden Track on Irvine] LOL! Love this song. Kelly you are so funny, I love it. I don't know how to classfy this song so i'll go acoustic song and I definately hope she does this song on tour. It be a great sing-a-long. --- 10/10 Ok I gave in rating them and so I say the record got a 9.5 /10 and I think this is kelly at her best . And I classfied each song to show how verstily this CD is, and I also put if it could be a sing-a-long song to prove to some that it does have sing-a-long songs. To those who wanted a "Breakaway", LOL I don't know about you, but I don't want the same CD twice in a row. I like a different CD each time and this CD has meaningful lyrics too. On alot of the songs alot of us can relate to it. I don't like songs that have no meaning like for instance "Hey Hey/You You/I don't like your girlfriend". I can write better. Thank God for Kelly Clarkson. |
