| Song lyrics |
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
I see your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughin' in the rain
Still can't believe you're gone.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin' no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder
Who you'd be today.
Would you see the world, would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a family
I wonder what would you name your babies
Somedays the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin' no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder
Who you'd be today.
Today, today, today
Today, today, today.
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know I'll see you again some day
Someday, someday...

| A friend of mine died last September in a car accident, seeing that smashed up car in the video.. I've never cried watching a music video before, but that killed me.
Reminds me of him everytime I hear the song, and of how unfair his death was... 18 years old, going to college, good job and a goal for himself. (not very common for kids right out of high school where I'm from) Kids like that shouldn't be the ones dying in car accidents.... | 28-10-2005 05:07 ForThem219 | 1 posts
| This song so much reminds me of two of my friends that died in Feburary. Both so young(16) and beautiful and full of life. They died in a car accident where 6 other people walked away with just cuts and bruises, so seeing the crushed car really got to me and I broke down right there and then. This is a great song even though it evokes so much emotion in me. Whenever I hear it, it reminds me of them and how much I love and miss them. Can't wait to see you both again, but until then may you RIP and watch over us who are still here. Forever in my heart and memories. | 29-10-2005 16:40 JohnCena_freak | 43 posts

This is a great song. The lyrics are so moving. I had a cousin that died in November of '03 and this song makes me think of him. He died at the age of only 14. I love this song, and i listen to it all the time. It's great! Also, Kenny makes the song even better, because he has such an awesome voice! | 04-11-2005 00:33 kentuckygirl04 | 56 posts

I love this song because it reminds me of one of my friends who just died November 6, 2005 in a car wreck. Everyone, the "Belt Crew" as we call ourselves, are very close so we were very emotional when he died. He was only 25, so his life had just began! We are all like a family and most of the guys were really close to him and two of the guys cried at his visitation, and then at the funeral those two plus another one that no one would ever expect to cry did!! It was such a sad funeral and there were soo many people there! Which made us all know that he was very loved and missed and that made us feel good. We all know he's in a better place now, but it's hard to lose a friend, especially if you're like a few of the other people and have lost several other close friends. Well, I guess thats all i have to say. Clint Ryan Stein, we all love n miss you soooo much!! | 13-11-2005 01:12 _2hott2handle_ | 171 posts
| [b]I have never cried from a music video but this one just tore me apart.
A friend of mine died this summer in a tragic car accident. His death was so unfair he was just 15!! and the nicest person you'd ever meet. I know its selfish but I wish he was here or I was with him. I wonder who he'd be today-ALL THE TIME!!!
The only thing that gets me through is I know-
'I'll see him again someday!'
{R}-{I}-{P} Matt W.!!! We love you and always will! Gone but Not Forgotten!!!

as much as I can't stand country music... I love this song... I usually listen to heavy metal, but this song is incredible... a friend of mine committed suicide September 16 2005, he was actually my dad's best friend, but the whole family was close to him, he was like a member of our family, he was at our house all the time, he practically lived with us, we shared Christmas Eve dinner with him every year... he helped me with everything, and now he's gone..... the song reminds me of him, it reminds my dad of him too... | 22-11-2005 04:53 HINES | 6 posts

"It ain't fair you died too young like the story that had just begun but death tore the pages all away..."
This song came out before my friend Erica Hicks died October 3, 2005. But I loved it before then and it gave me an entirely new meaning after her death. She died of a drug overdose on cocaine and ecstacy. She was 16 and a junior at my high school. I've known her since middle school but we didn't hang out in high school. We always ran with different cliques but she was always an amazingly happy person with a bouncy, bubbly personality. But she was also an exhibitionist...she wasn't afraid to try anything too dangerous. She loved to smoke, drink and party. A 15 year old boy is now being charged with murder for giving her the drugs. I have never seen so many people at one wake. It took me nearly 45 minutes to get to the body but just looking at the pictures of her everywhere and hearing "Something Worth Leaving Behind", "Time of Your Life", and "Wind Beneath My Wings" playing softly, I broke down before reaching the body. She was so beautiful and will be forever missed. Goodbye, beautiful.

Kenny Chesney is my favorite country singer. This song is one of the best ever. Kenny has an amazing voice and he knows what its like to lose a loved one. He knows how to tell you that everything will be okay, that they may be gone but in your heart they are always gonna be there. He's an amazing person all around. & this song touches sooooooo many people. | 19-07-2006 01:15 Kyzie | 1 posts
| This song is so important and means so much to me!!!! a few days ago on July 14th one of my close friends committed suicide and no one knows why but him, he left behind an amzing family, brother, girlfriend, friends, and people who loved him so much... They played this song over and over at his visitaion and his funeral... This song explains so well that Jeremy's life was cut way to short and we all will miss him terribly... I have only just heard this song for the first time and already it has become a favourite with me. It brings me to tears as I listen to the words and wonder what my three lost little ones would be doing today. What would they have become? What would they have looked like? Would they have had my grandchildren? I miss them terribly and long to hold them and see them once again. | 07-10-2006 14:28 Cherished_Teddy | 9 posts

I just found out that one of my school friends from High school, with whom I spent 5 days a week, all day every day, being in the same class as him for the past 6-7 years, died last night after being hit by a train. He's so young, like only 18-19 years old and he was seriously one of the greatest guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. There was no one ever like him and I know there will never be anyone like him in the future.
I haven't come to terms with his death yet because I'm still in shock about the way he has passed away. For such a smart dude, to die by being hit by a train isn't justified and it's devastating to think what must have gone through his mind at the time, the things that his family must be going through, and what his closest friends are going through, in particular, one girl that I could've sworn he was meant to be with forever!
I've been searching for a song to place in memory of him ever since the moment I found out, so that I can pay tribute to him on myspace. This song definately fits the best, because I have just started to wonder what could've been for him and his future, how he's too young to die and how devastating a thing like this is.
It's the perfect song, for the most perfect bloke!
REST IN PEACE GLENN "RIVER" BANKS!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU AND WE WILL ALL MISS YOU SADLY, BUT WE WILL REMEMBER THE TIMES YOU MANAGED TO PUT A SMILE ON OUR FACES, AND A LAUGH IN OUR HEARTS, EVEN THROUGH THE MOST DEVASTATING TIMES...IT'S A SHAME YOU CAN'T DO THAT FOR US NOW!! | 09-10-2006 14:57 Cherished_Teddy | 9 posts
