Kery James (real name Alix Mathurin) was born on December 28, 1977 in Guadeloupe. From Haïti, his family moved to Paris' suburbs when he was 7, he grew up in a difficult way & turned to rap. Whereas Kery was only 15, he recorded his first single with the band Ideal J, with explicit lyrics. Sometime later, the band released their first album O'riginal MC, with lyrics written by Kery himself. Kery went solo & became a Muslim. In 2001, he released his first solo album Si C'Etait À Refaire, taking the opposite of the audience but selling 100,000 copies.
In 2004, Kery created the project "Savoir Et Vivre Ensemble" with French rappers like Passi, Diam's, Disiz La Peste... His second album Ma Vérité came out in April 2005. After featurings on other albums in 2006 & 2007, Kery released À L'Ombre Du Show-Business in 2008, it has been N°3 in France. |
