Kery would like to stop music

 Whereas his new album entered N°1 in French charts last month, the rapper announces that he's going to leave during some years. This choice surprises his audience but the artist assumes it.
Kery James announced to "Le Parisien" that he'd like to stop music during some years. His album Réel entered N°1 in France in May & the rapper starts his tour, one of his best. Kery James describes himself as "rapper, black, from suburbs, Muslim" : he's tired of justifying the exact meaning of this choice.
"I'm going to stop music, rap, during 2 or 3 years, going abroad, to get back in touch with my innerself. I need something else, strong spiritual food. Gold disc, being N°1, this is not the icing on the cake, but the result of 15 years of work. Other took less time to get it" Kery James said.
The unfair spreading of rap in media is also one of the artist's motivations. "I tried to break clichés, to build bridges by singing a duet with Charles Aznavour. But rap is underestimated in media" sounds like he's going to leave his profession.
The rapper continues his French tour before taking some years off.
Kery James, real name Alix Mathurin, was born on December 28, 1977 in Guadeloupe. His first album Si C'Etait À Refaire came out in 2001, he got more success in 2008 with À L'Ombre Du Show-Business. The album became gold disc & the follow-up Réel, released in 2009, entered N°1 in France. Going on his way, Kery James has become a great French rap artist.
