Kevin Federline - Biography
|last update : 16-07-2006 01:28|
|Early on, Federline worked as a backup dancer for Justin Timberlake and the band LFO, future wife Britney Spears' opening act. Federline would later co-star with Spears on the 2005 reality television show, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, which consisted of home videos shot by the couple. He also appeared in the 2004 movie, You Got Served. Federline has garnered the nickname "K-Fed" in the media, although he has expressed disdain for the moniker.
Federline's first studio album, Playing with Fire, is expected in mid-August 2006, Federline and his representative, Marylin Lopez, confirmed. A minute-long clip from the track "Y'all Ain't Ready" circulated on the Internet in November 2005 to parody and ridicule. In the song, Federline refers to the paparazzi that follow him and Spears as "Pavarottis." Opinions vary as to whether this was intentional. Federline released his first single, "PopoZão," on New Year's Day, 2006, which was met with similar reception. The song is a re-imagining of a Brazilian dance track, whose title, "PopoZão," is Brazilian slang, roughly translated as "big or nice ass."
In the spring of 2006, a track titled "America's Most Hated" was released on Federline's official MySpace page. A stir was raised when it was revealed that Federline had used an uncleared sample from Thomas Dolby which had been used previously, and legally, by Mobb Deep. Federline also released a clip of an upcoming single called "Snap." He confirmed in March 2006 that he will perform a promotional club tour in major cities such as New York City and Los Angeles. Federline reported that he will not be performing on the tour but rather he will be observing fans' reactions to tracks played by a DJ.
Federline has been signed to model for the Five Star Vintage line by the San Francisco-based Blue Marlin clothing company. The initial series of ads is set to run in September 2006. The target age group for the line is between 16 and 28, and Macy's, Lord & Taylor and the Virgin Megastores will sell the "edgy" look, according to a spokesman. When asked if Federline's role was permanent, he said, "We have to see how this first ad campaign goes." Kevin Federline is nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Male Red Carpet Fashion Icon.
