5 years after Black Orpheus, the king of blufunk is crowned again with Nigerian Wood, his new album, released today. This week, Keziah Jones will perform 4 times... In Paris' subway.
Produced by Karriem Riggins (Kanye West, Erykah Badu & Common), Keziah Jones' new album Nigerian Wood (named like The Beatles' song "Norwegian Wood") is available.
Also, the singer is performing in Paris' subway : 18 years after his beginning there, Keziah Jones will sing on September 1, 3 4 & 6. He will invite an unknown artist, as a guest. Today, the music is funk, on September 3, it will be blues, on September 4, it will be nu-soul & on September 6, it will be afrobeat. To know more about this, check ratpdestinationmusique.fr, wait & see. For every concert, 150 people will be chosen & 45 minutes before the show, they'll know the concert's location. Also, a tour in France is scheduled from October 29 to November 14, going at Paris' Olympia on November 13.
Born in Nigeria, Keziah Jones left his family young, to study in London, not to become a doctor, but a musician. In 1992, in Paris, Keziah Jones has been discovered. A free artist, playing guitar with riffs. After Chuck Berry, maybe he created a new style, a way to perform, to be a free artist. He signed to Delabel after concerts in the subway. His first album Blufunk Is A Fact became successful, including the surprising hit "Rhythm Is Love".
