 Currently in studio for his new album Nigerian Wood, released on September 1, singer Keziah Jones called the best Nu Soul scene... The first single from this album is "My Kinda Girl".
Nigerian Wood will be the talentuous Keziah Jones' new album, released on September 1, including the first single "My Kinda Girl", available on download on June 23.
Currently in studio in New York for the final mixing, Keziah Jones is ending the production of his new album. 5 years after Black Orpheus, the Anglo-Nigerian singer was helped by Nu Soul & New Yorker artists : the album is co-produced by Karriem Riggins (Kanye West, Erykah Badu & John Legend) & Russel Elevado (Alicia Keys, D'Angelo, Al Green & Common).
Also, the singer will perform in France, on June 19 in Marseille & on June 26 in Bordeaux.
Spiritual son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, from Nigeria like him, Keziah Jones uses a rock sound, accepted by the audience, more than afro beat lovers. He was often compared to Ben Harper, Lenny Kravitz & Beck because of his musical style, but he is African, just like his speaking. Released in the early 90's, Blufunk Is A Fact goes through all Keziah Jones' musical directions in his career, from blues to funk & also rock, pop & of course afro beat. His biggest hit in France was the classic "Rhythm Is Love" (N°40 in 1992).
