Liane Foly - Biography

11-07-2007 19:10 | 0 reaction(s) | add reply
Liane Foly (real name Eliane Falliex) was born on December 16, 1962 in Lyon, France. She spent her childhood between her parents' boutique & ballrooms where her family sang. Then she performed in piano-bars & a musician, André Manoukian, fell in love with the girl. Together they recorded some songs & proposed them to record companies, then, in 1988, Liane released her first album The Man I Love. Between jazz & variety, the choice wasn't so easy but Liane continued, album by album, to have a faithful audience with songs like "Au Fur Et À Mesure", "Doucement" & "On A Tous Le Droit". In 2004, she came back with her album La Chanteuse De Bal, mostly autobiographical. In 2007, Liane appeared in the film "Je Crois Que Je L'Aime" & started a tour to celebrate 20 years of her musical career. She also created her one-woman-show "La Folle Parenthèse". On April 14, 2009, French Sports Minister Roselyne Bachelot decorated Liane "Officier Des Arts Et Des Lettres".
