After having sold millions of albums everywhere in the world, Lionel Richie, soul's greatest "hitmaker", is back with Just Go, an album produced by Akon & Ne-Yo : listen to a short clip of his new single.
Lionel Brockman Richie Jr. was born on June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, AL. He's one of the greatest soul singers & musicians, with lots of hits in the 80's & 90's.
This "hitmaker" started with The Commodores (Milan Williams, Ronald LaPread, William King Jr., Thomas McClary & Walter "Clyde" Orange), founded with his university friends. In 1980, Lionel went solo. His first hit "Endless Love", a duet with Diana Ross (soundtrack of the film), has been N°1 during 9 weeks. His self-titled debut album, in 1982, sold 10 million copies & became diamond disc. We know the following : hits like "Can't Slow Down", "All Night Long", "Say You, Say Me", "Hello" (N°25 in 1984), "Dancing On The Ceiling" (N°42 in 1986), "Do It To Me" (N°6 in 1992), "My Destiny" (N°18 in 1992) & "I Call It Love" (N°33 in 2006). Don't forget "We Are The World", co-written with Michael Jackson, four-time-platinum disc & million dollars have been given to this project against hunger in Africa.
In 2006, Lionel Richie has been the godfather of Star Academy sixth season. In 2009, ready to come back, the singer has been helped by Ne-Yo, Akon, StarGate, David Foster, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart & The-Dream for his album Just Go, & the first single, with the same name, is really efficient.
