| Song lyrics |
You don't need no friends
get back your faith again
you have the power to believe
another dissident
take back your evidence
it has no power to deceive
I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven
I look at my daughter, and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sunset and I perceive
I sit with them all night
everything they say is right
but in the morning they were wrong
I'll be right by your side
come hell or water high
down any road you choose to roam
I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven
I look at my daughter, and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sunset and I perceive, yeah
darling, I believe, Oh Lord
sometimes it's hard to breathe, Lord
at the bottom of the sea, yeah yeah
I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven
I look at my daughter, and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sunset and I perceive
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven
I look at my daughter, and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sunset
I can see the sunset
I can see the sunset
I don't need no one
Ohhhh
I don't need no one
I don't need no one
I don't need no one
To tell me about heaven
I believe
I believe it, yeah

Despite having a christian touch, from a christian band, it's quite a remarkable song. | 31-07-2004 14:38 black_ice45 | 79 posts

You all said its a christian song but I think it really isn't for organized religion. " I don't need no one to tell me about Heaven" I think their just trying to say that I belive I have faith thats all I need not some church. What you think? | 05-11-2004 12:24 Heropsycho | 84 posts
| "You are the Heart of Religion.
So many Blessed Names for what is only One.
So many prayers in so many different tongues
And You Hear them all the same." (Ed Kowalczyk)
That's how Ed feels about God. So no, it must not be about Christianity or any other particular religion. That man digs deeper!

| I agree with Heropsycho, This song is not focused on any particular religion. He talks about his own feelings for God, with no influence from anyone. He talks about how everyone has their own views and beliefs when it comes to religion, and there is no right answer. It also mentions how when it comes to faith and what you believe in, you don't need any proof. Thats what faith is about. You don't need any proof to believe in something, and this applies to everything, not just religion. This song does mean alot to me because I am a Christian (lutheran) and belonging to a Lutheran church, I see many of the problems that comes with organized religion. These problems can be really wearing on your faith. This song reminds me that when it comes to religion there is no right answer, and no one can change my mind on what to believe. This is just my interpretation, and I would appriciate to read anyone elses. | 14-06-2007 09:28 lollipop_kisser | 12 posts

It doesn't matter what you tell me about God, and all that he's done. You can believe what you believe. But I will believe what you tell me, when I see it, when I feel it, for myself. I don't need your proof that God is real. I have my own proof right in front of my eyes. My daughters. The sunset. I believe. | 14-06-2007 22:57 gingerbread_man | 1 posts

Look for real, this is wat i believe.
"I dont need no one, to tell me about heaven"
its simple there what he's saying. he doesnt need anyone telling him about heaven and stuff like that coz i reckon he already believes that there is a heaven. In saying it clear he's already got his faith that he believes that there is something great
"I look at my daughters, and I believe"
i reckon here he's saying "God gave me daughters and they're my world. They're my taste of heaven. I can only imagine what the real heaven could be"
I believe Live's music are never about what the people want to hear, as any good musician i find - they're songs about what perhaps maybe the people need to know about their worlds. These guys aren't a christian rock band but i reckon that Ed for starters does has his own christian belief whether it'd be seventh day adventist, lutherans, catholics, jehovah witness....etc etc but the fact he remains is that he has faith that there is a God and he believes in him without the proof. He doesn't need anyone telling him 'dont believe there religion coz its wrong, let me tell u the truth' coz there are so many different answers. He believes in what he knows. And that's what i believe |
