| Lorie (real name Laure Pester) was born on May 2, 1982 in Le-Plessis-Bouchard, France. At 3, she started dancing & at 6, she started ice-skating. During 10 years, she wanted to be a professional sportswoman. She got 12 medals ! At 15, Laure gave up ice-skating, nicknamed herself Lorie & started singing. She released her debut single "Baby Boum" in 1998 but it was unsuccessful. Thanks to her father Dominique Pester, Lorie met producer Johnny Williams in September 2000. She recorded the song "Près De Moi" & Johnny put the song on the Internet website peoplesound.fr. 15,000 people downloaded this song ! Fabrice Nataf, head of the site, contacted Sony Music & Lorie signed to Sony Music in November 2000. On May 2, 2001, the day of her 19th birthday, Lorie released her debut major single, "Près De Moi". The video was shot in Miami Beach, FL. In October 2001, she released her debut album Près De Toi & her second single "Je Serai (Ta Meilleure Amie)" was dedicated to her best friend Mialy, who appeared in the video. In February 2002, Lorie became a member of Les Enfoirés, on the album Tous Dans Le Même Bateau. In March 2002, Lorie released her third single "Toute Seule", the B-side of the single was "By My Side", the English adaptation of "Près De Moi" co-written by Billy Crawford. In May 2002, for her 20th birthday, she released her DVD Près De Vous & the autobiography "Mes Secrets" in September. In September 2002, Lorie released her second album Tendrement & the first single "J'Ai Besoin D'Amour". The same year, she started her first tour in France. The second single was "À Vingt Ans", released in January 2003. In May 2003, Lorie released her summer anthem "Sur Un Air Latino", previously unreleased, that also became her N°1 hit in France. Her first live album & DVD Lorie Live Tour came out in August 2003. In January 2004, Lorie released her third album Attitudes. The 4 singles have been "Week-End", "La Positive Attitude", "Ensorcelée" & "C'Est Plus Fort Que Moi". The B-side "Con Sabor Latino" is the Spanish adaptation of "Sur Un Air Latino". The last single was written & composed by Jean-Jacques Goldman. Her second live album & DVD Week-End Tour came out in December 2004. In April 2005, Lorie released her first compilation Best Of Lorie & the single "Toi Et Moi". In October 2005, she released her fourth album Rester La Même. The 4 singles have been the title-track, "SOS", "Partie Pour Zouker" & "Fashion Victime". Her third live album & DVD Live Tour 2006 came out in October 2006. Going on to a more disco/Tecktonik style, Lorie released her fifth album 2Lorenmoi? in November 2007, on Columbia/Sony Music. The 3 singles have been "Je Vais Vite", "Play" & "Un Garçon". In November 2011, Lorie released her sixth album Regarde-Moi. The 2 singles have been "Dita" & "Une Histoire Sans Faim". Unfortunately, the album has been unnoticed & Lorie left Columbia/Sony Music. Her cover album Danse came out on her own label LMD2 (distributed by Warner Music France). In October & November 2012, Lorie participated to "Danse Avec Les Stars" third season, with Chimène Badi, Bastian Baker, Amel Bent, Christophe Dominici, Laura Flessel, Taïg Khris, Estelle Lefébure, Emmanuel Moire & Gérard Vivès. She & her dance partner Christian Millette ended at the fourth place.
