 Talented Chicago rapper, Lupe Fiasco, is back with his new single “Superstar” and fresh new album “The Cool”.
Innovative lyricist Lupe Fiasco is set to release his brilliant new single “Superstar” on the January 14th and second album “The Cool” on January 21st 2008.
The new single is very nearly an autobiographical account of Fiasco’s rise to fame and the discomfort caused by it. Additionally the new album will also feature the vocal talents of Matthew Santos, who appeared on the track “American Terrorist” from the first album.
His sound could be described as a blend of Nas, Mos Def and Kayne West with the softer edge of Common. His lyrics are thought provoking and his style of rapping is fast. However his tunes are not overpowered by harsh, thumping rap beats but cool and smooth R&B with an edge.
Lupe Fiasco’s first big break was on the track “Touch the Sky” with Kayne West. Following his appearance in West’s video for the track, Fiasco’s single “Kick Push” a collaboration of rapper and street skate border also made waves in the rap game.
